Gaumard Scientific Continues Installations of Victoria Birthing Simulator

Gaumard Scientific Company has just announced their latest roll-outs of the Victoria birthing simulator at the Henry Predolin School of Nursing at Edgewood College in Madison, Wisconsin and the Pinnacle Health System in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Victoria, also known as the Noelle S2200, is an advanced birthing simulator that realistically replicates the delivery of a life-like full-term baby with sophisticated monitoring capabilities. The complete simulator system comes with comprehensive clinical scenarios, such as shoulder dystocia and postpartum hemorrhage. Victoria features articulating endoskeletons and smooth elastomeric skin, making it the most realistic, fully tetherless, and wireless maternal/fetal simulator available for actual point of care training.

The Victoria unit is controlled with a tablet preloaded with the simulator’s software which can operate Victoria from as far as 300 feet. Sensors in the simulator can track the birth’s course and provide information that can be used to review practitioner performance, later on. The unit is fully compatible with equipment such as fetal monitors, pulse oximeters, and blood pressure monitors and also allows for epidural procedures.

"Many of the educators that purchase Victoria are repeat customers. They know we deliver outstanding customer service and offer the most capable simulators in the industry. Our user-friendly UNI operating system always gets high marks from these educators, in part because it's universal across Gaumard's entire family of high-fidelity simulators. Not only is upgrading to Victoria seamless, but the UNI system facilitates a clean, wireless-tetherless experience that enables on-site training and allows for realistic movement of Victoria throughout clinical care locations." Said John Eggert, Gaumard’s excecutive vice president.

Obstetric team training simulations have been shown to improve patient care and reduce errors. With newer technologies becoming more available to clinicians and healthcare providers, it is important to keep equipment up-to-date and well-maintained. AIV provides a wide selection of fetal monitoring transducers, accessories, replacement parts, and repair services.
