Cedar City Hospital Foundation Receives Donation from Rocky Mountain Power

$5,000 was recently donated to the Cedar City Hospital Foundation by the Rocky Mountain Power Foundation to help acquire new equipment for the hospital.

The funds will specifically be used to purchase a new wireless, mobile fetal monitoring system for the maternity ward. Michael France, CCH major gifts officer, noted that the new monitors would help improve the overall birth experience for their patients.

“These new monitors will allow laboring mothers to have the birthing experience they want, while being closely monitored by their doctor and nurses for the safest birth possible,” he said.

The new fetal monitoring equipment is part of the new GE Mini Telemetry System. Through its wireless monitoring capabilities, patients will have more freedom to walk around during labor. France also adds that the new system will also make it easier for mothers to have water births in a tub instead of traditional deliveries in a hospital bed.

Hospital staff also stand to benefit from the new equipment as the new monitors eliminate the time spent unhooking patients from various wires and traditional monitoring devices before they can leave the room. “The design of the monitors, part of the new GE Mini Telemetry System, also provides reliable and time saving features for caregivers. We are extremely grateful to Rocky Mountain Power for their generous support of our hospital and of our new moms.” Said France.

“We at Rocky Mountain Power are very proud to support the hospital in this important way, with the very latest in technology and safety.” said Tom Heaton, Rocky Mountain Power Regional Business Manager. “The Rocky Mountain Power Foundation has and continues to be very active in Iron County, helping support such worthwhile entities as Iron County Care and Share and Family Support Center of Southwest Utah, and we love to be able to be a strong community partner with our exceptional local hospital.”
