Dear Gustavo We are delighted to announce that registration for our 2022 congress is now open. This year's congress is taking place at Lancaster University and marks a return to an in-person event. This is an opportunity for us all to come together, network, share our research and development new ideas, while also catching up with friends old and new. The campus setting, location close to major rail and road links and reasonable proceed accommodation on site makes this the perfect venue for us to reconnect. An Outstanding Scientific Programme covering the 7th and 8th September is being skillfully developed by Professor Jennifer Logue and the local organising committee. The theme of the congress is "Place" and includes the following plenary lectures: - Professor Jason Gill (University of Glasgow), 'The importance of place: How where you live and where your (grand) parents came from affects your metabolic health'.
- Professor Denise Campbell-Scherer (University of Alberta), 'Holistic obesity assessment and management in primary care'.
- Professor Paul Baker (Lancaster University). Changing frames of obesity in the UK press, 2008-2017.
In addition, we are working closely with potential sponsors to agree industry-led symposia and we encourage our membership to submit applications for member-led symposia before the 22nd April deadline. Further information about member-led symposia and the application process will be released soon. Abstract submissions will also be opening soon and any abstracts related to postgraduate theses can also be entered into the 3-minute thesis competition. As usual, UKCO2022 also includes an Early Career Researcher (ECR) workshop on the 6th September. The ECR workshop is incredibly popular and also very well evaluated, so we strongly encourage our ECR members to submit an abstract and attend this workshop. We are very pleased to say that those taking part in the ECR workshop receive one nights accommodation. Full details coming soon. There are a number of registration categories and we hope that delegate costs represent good value for money. Included in the registration cost is the congress dinner to be held on the University campus from 7pm on the 7th September. The dinner will be preceded by a drinks reception for all delegates, sponsors and exhibitors. |
