How Do You Find A Government Medical Trial?

How Do You Find A Government Medical Trial?

Several people have asked me how do you find a government medical trial?

My reply is to go online to this government website.

The government website above is the homepage for the National Institutes Of Health Clinical Trials.

The Clinical Trials webpage allows you to search your condition/ disease, terms, and country.

After you type in your search information into the Clinical Trials web page the results will appear.

I became aware of The National Institutes Of Health Relapsing Polychondritis study from the Relapsing Polychondritis Organization.

The Relapsing Polychondritis Organization placed The National Institutes Of Health, R.P. clinical trials on their website.

Another member of the Relapsing Polychondritis Organization posted the R.P. Study on a Relapsing Polychondritis Facebook Group Page.

I realize the Relapsing Polychondritis Facebook Group does not replace medical support.

However, the Relapsing Polychondritis Facebook Page is a terrific place to for me to meet others with the same rare disease and to find out about ongoing treatments.

The Relapsing Polychondritis Facebook Group also offers me a wealth of resources, a virtual venue to share personal experiences with the rare disease Relapsing Polychondritis, a place to vent, offer other Relapsing Polychondritis member’s support and a place to ask others input.

Back to the Relapsing Polychondritis National Institutes Of Health study and how I applied;

  • I completed the health information the study requested
  • My doctors completed the National Institutes Of Health medical paperwork
  • My physicians sent my medical records to the National Institutes Of Health
  • I waited
  • I waited, about ten months
  • Testing dates are chosen

The National Institutes Of Health covered all of my medical costs.

However, food, travel, and accommodation were not covered by the National Institutes Of Health study.

I was fortunate to stay The Edmond J. Safra Family Lodge at National Institutes Of Health.

The Edmond J. Safra Family Lodge at the National Institutes Of Health offers a complimentary home-like place of respite for families and loved ones of adult patients who are receiving care at the NIH Clinical Center.

An enormous thank you to the Edmond J. Safra Foundation!
