Oct 26, An Update on Kratom Legality

With the passage into law (the Support act) of a new set of powers for the FDA and others to try to better control the flow of various substances loosely called "opioids", many in the kratom community are rightfully concerned that our availability of this unique botanical will become limited. I don't doubt that the FDA will try to use the law for that purpose, though kratom is not specifically mentioned.
On the other hand, we -- as a community of millions -- need to be aware of and confident in our power and the competent professional leadership we have dealing with this momentous issue at the American Kratom Association (AKA).
We need to remember that we have both the science and the laws of this country on our side -- the FDA does not. If you doubt this, you should look for the recording of last night's briefing on the broad efforts of the AKA, both in Ohio and nationwide. That recording should become available today on the AKA Website and Facebook group page.
Looking at the Big Picture of the struggle to keep our freedom to obtain, import, and consume herbs to support our sense of health and wellbeing, a lot of progress has been made and will continue. The FDA, being a natural servant and ally of the wealthy pharmaceutical industry, is naturally going to fight us with lies and distortions of the facts on every front. Get used to it!
But don't let the seemingly endless struggle get you down. Freedom is a process, not an event. The enemies of our freedom to consume plant medicines will not give in easily, but -- with persistence -- they can be defeated.
Much of the world doesn't have the freedom we in the USA now have. Look around at the mainstream acceptance of medicinal CBD (cannabidiol) products, which have held great benefits for us all along -- even though hemp has been banned along with its cousin, marijuana, as a Schedule 1 Controlled Substance for decades!
This fight is far from over, but we can have confidence that our freedom to responsibly use herbs and other nutrients to support our natural health and happiness should be our right and we need to be willing and confident in our ability to win our freedom every time it is challenged.
By doing business with vendors who support the AKA's effort to protect our rights, you'll get double the benefit. Please visit the link below and support our sponsors.
