Jan 19, Growing Scientific Evidence Supports this Inexpensive Method for Reducing Alzheimer's Progression

The incidence of Alzheimer's Disease is predicted to triple by the year 2050. This, by itself, will bankrupt Medicare and Medicaid or lead to draconian measures to deal with such a crisis. What is the pharmaceutical industry doing about it?
Reportedly, all five classes of drugs Big Pharma is working on for Alzhiemer's fail to address a simple, inexpensive, and direct way that has shown good success in animal research for slowing significantly the progress of Alzheimer's Disease. We can only surmise that, if the public was aware that something so simple as taking Vitamin C supplements throughout the day could help prevent Alzheimer's, Pharma wouldn't be able to sell as many drugs at exorbitant prices.
Dealing with preventing Alzheimer's is one of the many areas where we don't want to waste our time "tinkering around the edges" of the problem. When we have good evidence of a specific cause -- in this case, a genetic mutation that caused humans to lose the ability to make our own Vitamin C as almost all animals do has rendered us defenseless against a terrible disease.
Diabetics are especially at risk for Alzheimer's and vascular dementia. Our brains need energy -- and the very nature of diabetes Type-2 is that energy creation is inhibited in all the cells of the body because blood sugar (glucose) can't easily enter our cells as it it supposed to be able to do. Therefore, concerns about preventing Alzheimer's are very relevant for younger diabetics and pre-diabetics, though unfortunately most MDs prescribe them metformin, which depletes their Vitamin B-12 (a critical component for producing cellular energy) and doesn't address the real problem of insulin resistance. Here, again the pharmaceutical industry would rather use indirect methods for reducing blood sugar production, rather than supporting natural methods of reducing insulin resistance.
Here is a video that will give you a more in-depth review of all the factors that are working to cause degenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's:
