Jan 16, Diabetes and Cancer -- the Close Connection Most Diabetics Are Missing

Because of our typical American diet, which has quietly morphed over the past 120 years from containing less than a pound of refined sugars into a diet with 150 lbs. of Sugar concealed in nearly every processed (man-made) food, many of us are on the way to becoming diabetic, but we don't know and accept this fact. So, I'm writing to an audience that is largely in denial that Diabetes is likely to be in their future.
Many will read this headline and decide that -- since you aren't diabetic now, what I have to say and the linked article I wish you would read is not applicable to you. The Law of Averages says something very different, though.
It may simply be human nature, but diabetics and pre-diabetics seem to be mainly concerned with remedying their immediate problem caused by diabetes (and partly by the Metformin they may have been prescribed), which is low energy.
It is very tempting for us to reach for an energy drink that usually contains either more sugar than a can of soda or it contains artificial sweeteners, which have been shown to also promote worse diabetes, as well as neurological and other medical issues. See my Webpage on "Diabetic Energy" for an explanation.
This article explains how excess sugar consumption sets us up for cancer, which most people fear far more than diabetes.
I realized 40 or 50 years ago that I needed to find other ways to satisfy or negate this sugar craving that seems to hit some of us more than others. But, few diabetics seem to be willing to do anything different as far as their diet is concerned.
All I can do is place the alternative products that I've found before you, for your consideration. The smart ones who realize the importance of making significant changes to prevent the horrible things that await most diabetics, will perhaps do something, but the rest won't. I'm learning to accept this fact.
The same high blood sugar that is a symptom of diabetes creates a fertile breeding ground for cancer. If we want to avoid cancer, the time to make changes in our diet is before we're diagnosed with cancer. Why is this so hard for diabetics to understand and act upon?
If you are naively waiting for your oncologist or MD to tell you about this, you'll have a long wait. Doctors are mostly taught what the pharmaceutical industry wants them to learn and healthy nutrition and natural supplements are not contributors to Big Pharma's bottom line.
Read the linked article, skip the intro and get into the "meat" of it, and learn the science that your doctor should know, but generally hasn't been exposed to.
