Nature offers us so many substances that have been found useful for a variety of human purposes, but generally -- due to the cost and time needed to get them approved as drugs -- they are not given the FDA stamp of approval. This does not mean that they are not safe and useful, as millions of us are learning with Cbd Oil, paste, and water-soluble formulas of cannabidiol, a non-psychoactive cannabis compound.
I like using CBD in various forms I've tried for improving my sleep quality. Generally, I only use it just before bedtime because it is very relaxing. Something else I've noticed is the presence of a more positive state of mind on the next day.
As is often the case, the antidepressant activity of CBD has been recognized by research scientists, but no pharmaceutical company has invested sufficient money and time into developing an FDA-approved antidepressant from the natural substance, so the public is not likely to hear about this benefit. I personally feel much safer with the natural CBD than I would from any pharmaceutical antidepressant that may be derived from it -- IF they ever get around to it.
I trust this natural substance far more than I trust a synthetic drug that usually has warnings of worsened depression and even suicidal ideation on the package insert.
That being said, I received the latest version of water soluble CBD two days ago from Red Devil Kratom and it is the strongest CBD I've ever tried. As I understand the process, it starts with a new source of the CBD paste -- which is about 3 times stronger than the previous, already excellent, product -- and then it is emulsified to render it water-soluble, which makes it easier for our body to absorb.
This is just an experimental batch. It really doesn't need to be so strong, but it doesn't seem to have hurt the effects! I slept well, dreamt quite a bit, and feel sharp, refreshed, and engaged in what I have on my plate today.
This new, stronger CBD is probably not going to be publicly available because the price would not be appealing. Too much paste goes into it and it is stronger than most people even need. The current water soluble CBD on Red Devil's site is plenty strong -- far stronger than any other CBD oil I've had, probably beause it is made only from hemp flowers, not the whole plant. The emulsifying "water-soluble" process also helps potentiate it, I'm sure.
Nevertheless, it has been interesting to experience this high-octane version, which is still -- as I understand it -- well within the legal limits for THC content. (There's no "high" to this, just restful sleep and a very "can-do" mood, which is all I'm looking for.)
