Dec 29, Yet Another Way to Reverse Type-2 Diabetes!

Type-2 Diabetes is a common, but complex, disease. It can be puzzling at times. For instance, most Americans seem to develop it as a result of gaining significant weight, but there are also those whose diabetes manifests as "unexplained weight loss."
Many in the Orient are developing Type-2 without weight gain (or loss) and this is thought to be due to high levels of chemical pollutants they are exposed to either in their workplace or in their general environment.
Some people also become diabetic due to certain prescription drugs they have taken. Statin drugs, prednisone, and several antidepressants are known to cause diabetes, for instance.
With all these variations in causation, it becomes difficult to easily decide what is the best way to reverse the disease. The individual must become a bit of a detective in assessing his or her personal medical history, diet, and lifestyle and deciding what is the best strategy to reverse their diabetes.
Here is an article which describes how a very strict "crash diet" can quickly reverse diabetes, Type-2.
This research even claimed that those who lose the weight quickly were found to not only no longer be diabetic, but that they did not quickly gain the weight back, which is contrary to what I have heard about other drastic diets.
Perhaps, as the link above suggests, the participants in the study were so happy to have reversed their diabetes in a short time that they made up their minds to keep the weight off. Obtaining an important goal with only a few months of intense dieting is very rewarding (and do-able), but who would want to go through that period of denial again?
All that I have read about Type-2 diabetes has pointed out that it is not caused by the body's inability to make enough insulin, but is instead caused by the patient's body becoming "insulin-resistant" -- that is, they have more than enough insulin in their bloodstream, but their cells are not properly responding to the insulin, causing them to feel tired, with difficulty thinking clearly.
Then, too, there are the widely differing ways that medical professionals propose to reverse the diabetes. Dr. Wallach says that what is essential are the minerals Chromium and Vanadium, plus their vitamin and herbal co-factors -- though he does agree with Neal Barnard, MD, that a meatless diet is important, but only during the first phase of reversing diabetes.
There are several different ways of reversing diabetes, Type-2, without drugs. Not being a medical professional, I can't give medical advice. I will say, however, that -- for me -- it has been very satisfying to find a way that works to resist becoming a prisoner of diabetes and the complications that come with it.
I hope you find a way that works. Don't stop trying until you do!
