Oct 2, Depression, linked to Blood Sugar Imbalances, Is a Major Problem

Commonsense should tell us that the medical industry's search for new drugs to treat the many new diseases that are appearing is a misplaced effort. The pharmaceutical industry is not looking for the cures to this proliferating plethora of new chronic conditions. That's not where the most profits are!
Instead, they are looking for some new synthetic chemical that causes our body to produce a little less of this or that hormone or enzyme, which -- which, in turn, causes new undesirable side-effects, which calls for more drugs to counteract them. We, and our diseases of deficiency of natural nutrients, are a gold-mine: The sicker we get, the more money they make.
As intelligent people, we try not to play rigged games. It's not easy, but once we know what our body has been found to need -- and we supply what is needed -- most problems go away with little effort. It is amazing how that works.
When we go to the doctor, too often when there's any condition the doctor doesn't know how to treat, they throw antidepressants at the problem. Dr. Wallach tells us that "food allergies, PMS, and hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) account for 90% of the diagnosed depression today."
Why aren't these issues dealt with head-on? Because there's no money in it! There's big money in selling antidepressants that are little better than a placebo, but are harder than hell to quit -- and may cause death when combined with another prescription for a muscle relaxer, for example.
The pharmaceutical industry's whole schtick of doing everything in their power to dissuade us from treating our depression with inexpensive natural foods and herbs should be obvious by now, but thanks to their outrageous profit margins they've been able to buy respect so they can keep tapping the public till. What a joke!
Depression is more common in diabetics, so providing our body what it needs to support a healthy insulin function makes sense as a precaution to prevent depression, too.
Besides ending my sugar and alcohol habits, eating a clean diet, supplementing, and getting as much sunlight and exercise as I can, I've found CBD oil and 5-HTP very helpful in helping to avoid occasional depression spells. It is maddening that CBD oil, which has no mental effects that could be called "psychedelic", is on the DEA's list of Schedule 1 drugs, along with heroin, cannabis, and LSD. What's next? Making happiness illegal?!
It's ironic that our body has an endogenous cannabinoid system. Makes you wonder, doesn't it?!
