Jul 12, Three Important Nutritional Supplements For Pain

I found some tips online recently from a medical professional that might be useful to everyone who is suffering Chronic Pain from any source. Unfortunately, I didn't save the link to show you who it was, but it was a credible source, and nothing I hadn't heard before. The only thing new about it was the link of these Essential Nutrients to reducing chronic pain.
The first nutrient that most of us living north of Florida don't get enough of is Vitamin D. Sunlight is vitally important for general health, primarily because our body uses it to create Vitamin D, which is actually more of a hormone than a vitamin. It's important to store this vitamin/hormone during the Summer months -- and to take quality Vitamin D-3 supplements during the rest of the year. Dr. Wallach and other enlightened sources say about 5000 IU per day should be sufficient.
Another key nutrient that most of us are deficient in is Magnesium. The citrate form is the one Dr. Wallach prefers for promotion of health, but some other chelated forms are also good. This can be consumed up to "bowel tolerance". This mineral is very important for those who take kratom, to overcome any tendency of constipation.
Oh, among its many healthy functions for brain and nervous system health, magnesium relaxes our muscles. Tense muscles can be a major source of pain in conditions like fibromyalgia, for example.
Finally, there are the Omega-3 essential fatty acids (usually fish oils and vegetable sources), which reduce inflammation and improve circulation of the blood. This comes in handy when we have headaches, to improve the blood flow to the brain.
That's all I have time for today. Dr. Wallach recommends that we take all 90 essential nutrients in supplement form every day, many of which are trace minerals that may not be in our food in sufficient quantities. You can learn more about these on my Resources page, linked below.
