Spy vs Trumpieboy:the Ukrainian connection

when it comes to the Ukraine, who do you believe?

Netflix "winter on fire", pushed by the US and UK and sent around to all those prestigious film festivals, celbrating the overthrow of a bad President by the people, or Oliver Stone's 2016 take on the NGOs and US manipulating the Ukraine to throw out a pro Russian president the CIA and State Department didn't like.

You know: Oliver Stone, who produced conspiracy theory films on Salvador and JFK? Evil CIA and all that stuff?

Vimeo still has his film if you want to watch it.
Ukraine on Fire: The Real Story - Full Documentary by Oliver Stone (Original English version) from Sott.net on Vimeo.

usually I'd back the official Netflix stuff, but I am old enough to remember the Church committee, not to mention the CIA involvement in Central America portrayed in Stone's movie Salvador.

another reason I am a bit skeptical on the official story being pushed is because I see what is happening here.

A Manila Times article discusses US funded NGO funding astroturf groups and "independent" media to push against Duterte,

THE National Endowment For Democracy (NED), accused of being a channel for Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) propaganda and destabilization operations in Eastern Europe and elsewhere, has stepped up its funding for three local media outfits that have been publishing articles in the Internet very critical of President Duterte and his administration.....
 italics mine

Well, anyway, here is the Ukraine parallel:
While these moneys may seem small, an NGO activist in Europe pointed out this was the same pattern in Ukraine several years back.
The NED initially extended modest funds to Ukrainian opposition groups, and increased them substantially as the political crisis in that country broke out that led to the overthrow in 2014 of pro-Russia Ukraine President Viktor Yanukovych, to be replaced by pro-US leaders.
NED president Carl Gershman, who has been openly rabidly anti-Russian would boast after Yanukovych’s fall: “Ukraine is the biggest prize“. (Another US outfit that has funded NGOs in Ukraine that helped topple Yanukovych is Omidyar Network, owned by tycoon Pierre Omdiyar. It is one of the two foreign financiers of another anti-Duterte media outfit, Rappler.)
again, italics mine.

In short, there is probably a good geopolitical interest for the USA to interfere with a "pro China" Duterte, just as it is probably in the geopolitical interest of the US to interfere in the Ukraine to cut down Russia's influence,

ah, but the question is: Would these same "good guys" also go along with the "resistance" narrative of the Democratic party/CIA/big business to keep the Democrats and "never Trump" republicans in power?

The Ukrainian president put in by the coup was pro American, which is good. But he also was very corrupt, and there is the suspicion that everyone and his brother decided to get a share in the goodies.

That is what the Biden part was about. and it was just the tip of the iceberg for Washington corruption that has been going along for years with few outside the radical left noticing.

from the Conservative Treehouse:

Big multinational interests, Big Pharma, Big Ag, Big Global Banking interests, etc, were exclusively supporting both President Obama and candidate Clinton. The domestic politics of the U.S. were/are tools toward an end; and, so long as the person occupying the oval office did not interfere with Big Club objectives, they too would benefit financially.
...It is the way of the swamp. Why would a senate candidate spend $10 million to win an election that pays $300k/year? How do politicians become multi-millionaires while in office? Likely a great many more people are aware of the bigger issues than ever before. Perhaps this explains the dynamic of angst amid those same occupants.
and here is Noam Chomsky:

ironically, all of this is not just about "corruption business as usual", but there is a major suspicion that the "Russian collusion" farce has deep roots in the Ukraine.

and Instapundit links to an essay on RealClearInvestigations that goes into details.

In other words, it's about getting to the roots of Russiagate.'' and the superfast "impeachment" stuff is to stop the truth from getting out.

And the bad news? Most of the foreign news outlets seem to be carrying the Democratic spin, ignoring the very questionable legal maneuvers about "impeachment" by changing congressional and whistle blowing rules, while ignoring the CIA connection behind the farce. LINK
