StrategyPage has a long article about North Korea and their weapons of mass destruction.
note several things: One, a lot of folks are getting exposed to radiation: even China is running ads to warn travelers near there to watch for symptoms.
Then there is this:
But they point out that anthrax is pretty widespread, and mainly folks catch it from touching or eating anthrax infected animals or exposed to dead one.
Meanwhile there was a North Korea biological weapon scare in 2015 when a PR video of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un visiting a recently refurbished North Korean Pyongyang Biotechnical Institute became available. Western analysts noted in the background there were some industrial equipment for making large quantities of new biological agents. North Korea said it was doing some research on biological pesticides for some local crops. But that expensive equipment could make biological weapons like militarized Anthrax.
and even accidental release of weaponized anthrax in Russia didn't kill a lot of folks.
The article has a lot of technical details about anthrax as a weapon, including that it is not the best bioweapon for various reasons.
The major problem with Anthrax-as-a-weapon is delivering it. The spores, in their natural form, don't travel well in the air. "Militarizing" Anthrax consists of processing the spores so they don't clump together and thus can more easily float away in a breeze. But sunlight and heat can kill the spores, and even if they float through the air they can disperse so that anyone breathing them in will not get a fatal dose (10,000 to 50,000 spores).
which is why so few people died of the anthrax attacks in 2001.
As I wrote before: The scientist(s) blame for that 2001 outbreak had access to anthrax, but not the training, equipment or ability to process it to make it small enough to reach the lungs, which is why a lot of us think the probe was a coverup.....
and the same ones behind Irvins' witchhunt are now behind Trumpyboy's Russia probe. Hmm...
But that's another conspiracy theory for another day.
