A big week ago I got an amazing mail. I got selected for EUPATI’s Patient expert course together with 60 other patients from all over Europe.
EUPATI is an European organization devoted to training patients in medicines Development, clinical trials, medicines regulations, health technology assessment. It’s a partnership in between public and private organisations; from academic to industrial partners.

During an online course, combined with two weeks face-to-face training, we will learn more about medicine development and R&D processes. The goal is to enable patients on how to take part and advocate for patient inclusion in R&D. Patients should be partners in medicines development as this delivers a more valuable product.
As most of you know I’ve always been into patient inclusion and empowerment. Getting the opportunity to dig deeper into medicine development is great for me. Of all subjects in diabetes care I dare to bet it’s the one I can still improve my skills greatly. Being able to develop my skills together with patients from all over Europe and learn from experts will be a breathtaking journey.
