How To Partner With Influencers & Celebrities To Increase Business Exposure

There are many factors that go into making a business to grow, but one of the main growth factors is exposure. The more exposure a business has, the more likely it will be to find and gain customers. Exposure can be gained in a variety of ways, but one of the best ways for a business to increase its exposure is for it to partner up with Influencers. Celebrities, such as athletes, musicians, and movie stars, can be one type of influencer, of course, but another type of influencer that can just as much, if not more, impact are influencers within your business’s industry niche. These influencers are those who other people acknowledge as being knowledgeable and authoritative about the industry. If someone like them were to mention your business in some positive way on Social Media or elsewhere, many people would take notice. So, how does one go about partnering with such influential people?

If you want to reach out to celebrities, you can try to reach them through their agents or reach them on Social media with what you offer in terms of influencer partnering, but make sure you are reaching out to celebrities who would be interested in you and your business.

For other influencers, such as those in your industry as well as those who can be considered trendsetters and those who are bloggers, you can often find them on social media. Before you approach them, you probably will first want to make sure that you have a good amount of influence yourself, so that the influencers you want to partner with will take you seriously and will see that partnering with you will be of value to them. You don’t have to have thousands of followers on social media, but a decent amount would be useful.

When you are ready, the first thing to do is find your influencers. Start with social media, such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Snapchat and YouTube. Having a few mid-sized influencers (influencers with 10,000 -20,000 followers) may work better than one large influencer by providing a you with a wider and more varied reach. Also look for bloggers you can reach out to for guest posting. TapInfluence, The Shelf, BuzzSumo, and ListBuilder.io are some good tools for finding influencers, so you may want to try them.

Once you’ve found influencers, it’s time to pitch them. The idea of pitching can seem intimidating, but it’s not that bad. You’re just connecting with them. Start by following them on social media and interact with them. Get them used to you for a bit, then reach out to them with an email or private message and explain what you are looking for, and what you can offer them and why you think it’d be a good fit. Be sure you understand their motivations first. For example, journalists are interested in things newsworthy; affiliates want money; social media and bloggers want fame. These tips can also apply to reaching out to pop culture celebrities.

Once your partnerships are going, check that your influencer marketing efforts are working. Track links and promo codes and figure out which influencers are driving traffic. Check referrals with Google Analytics to see what blogs are referring traffic. Try to boost what seems to be working and tweak what doesn’t.
