84 metres, Hoho is one of the tallest Wooden buildings that offers magnificent views to its residents. The ambitious project was conceived some six years ago. Today, this wooden building is the home for many people as well as several business spaces. It is erected next to Lake Asperner in Vienna and is the second highest building with 24 floors. Today it houses office, home, gym, shops, Hotels and garages. The building is one of the tallest buildings in the world. The project is backed up by Austrian history of wooden craftsmanship.Georg Jeitler, head of innovation at the wood industry company Hasslacher Group said that this building is a wonder in terms of building management, sustainability, economy and environmental management.  The wood structured building is not only a wonder to the world but also is an inspiration for the next generations to come.

The construction consists of four prefabricated main elements: the load-bearing structure, facade elements, roof panels and floors. Hasslacher Group has delivered Glulam and cross-glued wood from sustainably managed forest to the five houses. These are made of 75% wood. The load-bearing structure consists of steel-reinforced glulam and columns in glulam.

Glulam has become an indispensible element for the wood production these days according to Georg Jeitler. The low density and high strength, glulam can handle pressure and high loads. The versatile character of the material makes it indispensible element in wood working.

The Hoho apartment has the potential to survive extreme weather conditions as the modules were prepared in independent weather conditions. The interior of the structure has been prepared with materials having UV absorbing properties. The wood has been surface treated with water based elements, which makes the structure so hardy.
