Malaysia Convention Bureau Highlights Nation’s Appeal at IMEX Frankfurt

The Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) is actively participating in the IMEX Frankfurt tradeshow from May 14th to 16th, 2024. MyCEB is joined by 13 co-exhibitors, including state tourism and exhibition bureaus, convention centers, hotels, and key industry entities such as Professional Conference Organizers and Destination Management Companies.

This year marks the 12th time MyCEB has attended IMEX Frankfurt since 2011, in line with the Malaysia Business Events Strategic Marketing Plan 2021 – 2030. MyCEB is dedicated to enhancing and promoting the Malaysian business events sector by engaging strategically with the market.

The participation this year is especially crucial as MyCEB, an entity under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture (MOTAC) Malaysia, ramps up for the upcoming Visit Malaysia Year 2026.

Focused on tapping into the corporate market in Frankfurt, Germany, MyCEB aims to forge connections with planners, decision-makers, and influencers within the business events sphere. The tradeshow is set to attract over 4,000 buyers, offering MyCEB a prime opportunity to highlight its MyTripleE campaign, which targets the Automobile, Environment, Pharmaceutical, and Science industries through planned meetings.

Mr. Azman Haji Tambi Chik, CEO of MyCEB, emphasized, “Our commitment to positioning Malaysia as the top destination for Business Events in Asia remains firm. We continually update our industry partners on the latest offerings in the country at each event, adhering to our roadmap to fulfill the Strategic Marketing Plan by 2030. We also look forward to the exchange of knowledge and the generation of business leads, as the Malaysian pavilion always attracts a significant audience. Last year, IMEX Frankfurt facilitated 57,700 appointments for the Malaysian delegation from 84 countries, and we are optimistic about surpassing that number this year.”

Visitors to the Malaysian pavilion at A220 can experience Malaysia’s rich culture through traditional games and local cuisine. Additional activities include a pre-event meeting with the Asia Convention Alliance (ACA) on May 13th and a networking reception at the pavilion on May 15th.

On May 15th, MyCEB also held a press conference at the Press Centre, Room Symmetrie 2, where they announced initiatives to strengthen bilateral relationships within the MICE/Business Events Community, which is currently forming. Anyone interested in discovering more about Malaysia as a leading business events destination is welcome to visit the pavilion or contact the MyCEB team for more information.
