Seoul International Travel Fair Opens Doors to Global Tourism Opportunities

The Seoul International Travel Fair commenced on Thursday at COEX, Samseong-dong, in southern Seoul, showcasing the tourism potential of various countries, cities, and provinces worldwide.

Organizers and participants highlighted the exhibition’s purpose to diversify tourist demographics, acknowledging the increasing interest from travelers beyond traditional destinations.

Hafsa H. Mbamba, CEO of the Zanzibar Commission for Tourism, emphasized Tanzania’s appeal with pristine beaches, mountaineering, and safari tours, offering unique experiences for adventurous Korean travelers.

Mohamed Younes, Director of the Egyptian Tourism Authority, noted the growing interest between South Koreans and Egyptians in each other’s culture, aiming to introduce Korean travelers to both ancient wonders and modern attractions in Egypt, including golf tourism opportunities.

According to Egypt’s ambassador to Korea, Khaled Abdel Rahman, Egypt seeks to inform the Korean public about its beautiful and cost-effective golf destinations through increasing people-to-people exchanges.

With over 300 companies occupying 500 booths, the fair includes musical performances and runs until Sunday, aiming to captivate Korean travelers with diverse offerings from around the world.
