I am so honored to be writing my third Worx Intern blog post! You know what they say… good things come in threes! Or maybe it’s bad luck that comes in threes? Is that why I locked my keys and phone in my car on the same day that I lost my license and debit card in two separate places? Welp. It’s been awhile since my last blog post but today there was a slight lull towards the end of the day and someone suggested I write another one so that’s why I’m here and please don’t tell Lisa that I think writing is more fun than helping her file (Lisa - if you’re reading this, I’ll be down in 20!) (I promise!).

Anyway… I’ve been at WORX since January but it feels like I’ve been here for 1000 years because I’ve learned so many things. I feel wiser. Like a Monk. But like a monk who spends most of his/her meditation time thinking about Google and Adwords and Meta Content and  Search Engine Optimization and When Lunch Is and Why Doesn’t Google Sheets Have Reliable Spell Check and and and maybe this monk is missing the point of meditation. Ask me what SEM stands for. I know the answer! Ask me what ad extensions are. I know this one, too!

But in all seriousness (side note: seriousness is not a very serious word but I am attempting to transition into a more serious tone so bare with me) my time at this internship thus far has felt like an extension of college in the sense that I am being challenged, interested, and compelled by the tasks I am completing and the material I am learning. I didn’t realize how much my brain was itching to be, well, used. And as much as I told myself watching Mad Men is like working in an advertising agency, it’s not. All that Netflix binge did was give me secondhand lung cancer and liver failure. I still love you though, Don Draper.

WORX is also a lot like college because we drink on Fridays. Except we usually stick to one glass of wine, which I think is nice and very classy of everyone. And I am also making friends, I think. Like Melinda, for example, ex-employee of Lush (that place where girls buy glitter bath bombs & soap made of butterfly whispers). Melinda told me it was mandatory that I mention her at least once in the blog post so, check.

Last week, I wrote some Google Ads about surgeons and this week, anything is possible! Even filing expense reports from 1997 (be right there, Lisa!). Who knows how long it will be until you hear from me next? ‘Til then…
