Hiiiii
guys, it’s Mackenzie again! I am a junior, communication with business
applications Student at the University of New Hampshire and was an
intern at WORX this past summer. I could not be more thrilled to be
welcomed back and given the opportunity to intern here again! After
learning so much this past summer, I knew that I needed
to get back to WORX over my long winter break in Connecticut.
It is hard to figure out a career path when you are a College student.
In a broad
major like communication, it feels like there are a million different
directions you can go. Should I focus on marketing, media, keyword
research, or social-networking? What will I enjoy doing every day for
the rest of my life? Everything seems to interest
me in its own way.
What
I have learned over time is that the best way to figure out what route
is
best for you is by gaining experience. My parents have engrained in my
mind “The more experience, the better.” My advice to any College Student
is to go out of your way to network, create meaningful, professional
relationships, take on that difficult internship,
go the extra mile, etc. Whatever could help your future, do it!!!!
It
is so easy to take the back burner while in college and think to
yourself
“I will worry about my future once I graduate”. What you need to do is
take the initiative now so that when you are out of college, you are one
step ahead of your peers and can solidify that job you’ve always dreamt
of. You decide your future so get ready to
show the world all that you are capable of and become the successful
adult you’ve always wanted to be!
