Live on Sky Sports – Coventry City Vs Huddersfield Town

Sky Sports will broadcast Huddersfield Town versus Coventry City’s Monday evening encounter at Coventry Building Society Arena as a feature coverage match-up, following both teams having lost out in previous play-off finals.

Following an uneventful opening period, the game quickly came alive when Isaac Mbenza and Max Biamou each had chances for the home side; each being denied by Ben Wilson’s strong saves.

Coventry City

Coventry City FC are an English professional football club based out of Coventry and currently compete in the Championship league system, the second-tier English league system. Since 1899 they have played their home matches at Highfield Road with only two seasons played out at Ricoh Arena during this time.

Ricoh purchased the naming rights to Ricoh Stadium, previously known as Coventry Building Society Arena, after they relocated from Highfield Road in 2005.

Last season, Coventry City finished 8th in League One and were promoted back into the Championship via play-offs. At home they have won two out of their six matches at CBS Arena this season and look in good form heading into this fixture. On this week’s Fancast Lorna Bailey is joined by Anthony to discuss Coventry City’s 1-1 draw away at Swansea City where they explore both positives, frustrations and potential fake rivalries.

Line-ups

Coventry manager Mark Robins will be without several players for Saturday’s match, including Tyler Walker, Matty Gooden and January signing Anthony Knockaert. However, Viktor Gyokeres should still be fit to start, while new defender Luke McNally could make his Sky Blues debut – filling a gap left by Kyle McFadzean’s injury.

Sky’s coverage of EFL League also extends to EFL Cup matches, featuring Martin Tyler and Alan Smith providing commentary. They broadcast both semi finals and the cup final live as part of their contract with the EFL Cup; Sky also shows England Saxons, Under 18’s, and Under 20’s Rugby matches through their long-term contract with RFU; PremPlus was previously known as Sky Sports Action until it was changed for 2004-05 season; now known by this name only carries all live Premier League and international football matches

Predictions

Home side have been scoring goals lately and, despite their low league position, are well worth considering for an outright win here. Unbeaten in four Championship matches at Coventry Building Society Arena since January 2018, they could prove difficult opponents as Wolves defeated them 2-0 on Monday evening to offer stiff opposition for Coventry to overcome.

Huddersfield Town have an average away goal tally that surpasses their home goal tally and each team scored when they met previously – all games saw both scoring. Furthermore, both sides scored in all three recent meetings where both sides met – all matches featuring BTTS happening simultaneously!

Coventry will look to break their current draw streak at Ricoh Arena and with no major injury concerns expected, they should put up an impressive performance. Although Coventry have suffered losses early this season, they still sit 16th overall and possess enough talent on any given day to beat any opponent they meet.
