While some may argue that communicating holiday well wishes via social media and email may be impersonal, we’d argue that taking to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and similar outlets may actually have its benefits in some instances.

Want to know how you can make the most of spreading holiday joy online? At Social Clover Marketing, we have some ideas for you…

1. Share efforts you support. Is another local business or nonprofit organization holding a food or winter clothing drive? Maybe a business is sponsoring animal adoptions at the area shelter to aid in find pets their forever home with a waived adoption fee. If they’re posting about it on their social media platforms, be sure to share to your business and personal pages to help spread the word!
2. Fun for kids. Tailor it to your business, of course, but do something fun for the younger set and host a coloring contest by sharing an image they can print out and color as they wish and post completed entries online for viewers to vote on for a prize. It’s a great way to engage with the community (and maybe future customers and clients).
3. Offer giveaways. Do you have products to share or do you receive gifts that are perfect for giving? If you answered “yes” consider posting one a day on your page and asking followers to like and share for entries into the contest. You could even ask business friends to donate items like gift certificates and tag their businesses to spread the social media and holiday joy.
4. Spread holiday cheer. Know of local events others may enjoy attending? Think concerts, light displays, photo opportunities with Santa, school productions and more. Share them to help boost attendance.
5. Spruce up your social media presence. Consider creating a special holiday-themed logo, profile and/or cover photo to celebrate the season. It’s something small you can do to bring a smile to the faces of those visiting you online.
