Morgan Wallen Arrested in Nashville for Reckless Endangerment

Country music star Morgan Wallen, who clinched eleven awards at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards, found himself in legal trouble late Sunday. Morgan Wallen Arrested at Chief's, the six-floor Nashville bar co-owned by his long-time friend and business associate, Eric Church.

Wallen faces charges including three counts of reckless endangerment and one count of disorderly conduct.

According to the police report, Wallen, aged 30, allegedly hurled a chair from the rooftop of the bar to the street below around 11 p.m. Metro Nashville police, positioned in front of the establishment, witnessed the chair land just a few feet away from them, the report detailed.

Security footage reviewed by the officers showed Wallen "making a lunging motion and tossing an item over the rooftop," according to the report.

Eyewitnesses reported that Wallen appeared to laugh following the incident.

Wallen's legal team issued a statement to the Tennessean through his representatives, with his attorney, Worrick Robinson from Worrick Robinson Law, stating, "Morgan Wallen was taken into custody Sunday night at 10:53 p.m. CT in downtown Nashville, facing charges of reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. He is fully cooperating with the authorities."

Wallen was released from custody early Monday at 3:30 a.m. after posting a $15,250 bond. His court appearance is set for May 3, which interestingly aligns with one of his three scheduled concerts at Nashville's Nissan Stadium happening from May 2 to 4.

There has been no update regarding the rescheduled date of April 20, 2024, for his previously canceled 2023 show at Oxford, Mississippi's Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, nor is there any word on whether his headline performance at the Stagecoach Festival on April 28 will proceed following his arrest.

In the previous year, Wallen had to cancel a show scheduled for April 24, 2023, citing the need for vocal rest, just 11 shows into a seven-month worldwide tour. Ticket costs for that event were refunded.

Morgan Wallen's history with Lower Broadway

Wallen is no stranger to legal trouble on Lower Broadway.

Back on May 24, 2020, Morgan Wallen arrested for being drunk in public and disorderly conduct outside Kid Rock's place in downtown Nashville. According to the arrest report from the Metro Nashville Police Department, Wallen was booted from Kid Rock's Big Ass Honky Tonk Rock N' Roll Steakhouse around 11 p.m. after he started kicking glass objects. Once outside, he began verbally sparring with people passing by while the police looked on.

The police report noted that Wallen was given multiple chances to leave with his friends, but he kept refusing, leading the police to conclude he was both a risk to himself and those around him.

Wallen recently revealed plans to launch a Nashville bar named 'This Bar' in 2024, paying tribute to his Tennessee roots. The six-story establishment is set to occupy 107 4th Avenue North on Lower Broadway and will serve as a live music venue and restaurant.

The name of the bar draws from Wallen's 2019 song of the same title, where he croons, "I found myself in this bar / Making mistakes and making new friends." In a press statement unveiling the venture, Wallen remarked, “I sing about finding myself in 'This Bar,' and now it's coming to life.

This venue will embody everything I cherish and is inspired by my fans and their unwavering support for me and my music."
