Online retailer Amazon today increased its prices for access to its in-house Music streaming service Amazon Music Unlimited and now charges €10.99 per month for regular access to about 100 million songs in its own catalog.

Individual listeners, students and families

This means that the basic rate is now 1 euro more expensive than previously offered. Until yesterday you could still book the Spotify competitor for the previously standard 9.99 Euros per month.

Student access is also affected by price increases. Registered listeners now also have to pay 1 euro per month more and now pay 5.99 euros instead of 4.99 euros for Amazon Music Unlimited Student.

The new price of 16.99 euros applies to family accounts, which recently paid 14.99 euros per month. The prices for the annual payment have been increased accordingly and are now 169.99 euros instead of 149.99 euros before.

Echo plans are already more expensive

Amazon announced the price increases that have now been implemented in January, turning the price screw for the second time in six months. Last summer, Amazon Music Unlimited prices got more expensive for Prime customers.

The reduced Echo subscription for users with an active Prime membership rose from 3.99 euros to 4.99 euros at the time. Since then, users with an active Prime membership have had to pay EUR 8.99 instead of EUR 7.99 for full access to Amazon Music Unlimited.
