An update blessing for iPad users: with the latest version, Volksbanken’s VR Banking app is now also optimized for use on Apple’s tablet and both the mobile version of the Google Chrome Browser and the video editing application Filmic have been expanded with numerous new new features added.

With the release of version 4.8.0, de Volksbank’s banking application has finally been optimized for use on the iPad. In addition, the update notes lead to a standardization of the password specifications with de Volksbank’s SecureGo Plus TAN replacement process.

Chrome browser with new features

The mobile Chrome browser is unusually talkative in its current update notes, which otherwise often simply mention stability and performance improvements.

The Chrome app is now available to install on iPad and iPhone in version 110 and introduces new Chrome actions that allow basic settings to be made with simple input from the browser’s address bar. Google cites the “Set Default Browser” and “Clear History” entries as examples, which can now be called up without having to delve into the app’s settings.

In addition, the browser now also offers the possibility to create calendar appointments by pressing data and possibly searching for images. To do this, users need to long-tap on an image and then select “Search image using Google”.

In terms of security, Google now provides information about hacked passwords and offers a new option to only surf on HTTPS sites from now on. You can find this in the app settings under “Privacy” > “Always use secure connections”.

Cinematic with three innovations

In version 7.2 of its app, the Filmic video editing application offers the ability to touch the screen to make it visible, introduces a “Focus Assist” and a new “Frame Guide”. The embedded video presents the innovations in detail.
