Almost a year after its launch in Germany, the Aqara Camera Hub G2H Pro is currently available at a significantly lower price. At Amazon, the camera compatible with HomeKit Secure Video currently costs only 57 euros. The device is also sold by Apple, but as usual they do without such promotions and stick to the official suggested retail price of 90 euros.
The Aqara Camera Hub G2H Pro combines an indoor security camera with Zigbee hub functionality and offers the possibility to integrate other Aqara accessories into smart home and HomeKit networks.
The camera itself allows a viewing angle of 146 degrees at a resolution of 1080p and allows the use of mircoSD cards with a capacity of up to 512 GB as internal video storage. The integration is optionally only possible via Apple Home or HomeKit Secure Video, optionally the Aqara Camera Hub G2H Pro can also be used with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
The camera is extremely compact with a height of 8 centimetres. The approximately 5 x 5 centimeter base can be extended downwards and also used to adjust the orientation of the camera using two hinges and a turntable. A magnet integrated in the base holds the camera securely, even on vertical metal surfaces. An adhesive pad and a metal plate for flexible mounting of the camera are also included in the scope of delivery.
