The smart home toilet with Alexa is here › jojo Reviews

Who else asked for a toilet with a smart home connection? Announced almost four years ago, American manufacturer Kohler is now launching its smart Numi 2.0 toilet. It didn’t work out with the originally planned HomeKit connection, but Amazon Alexa is integrated as a language assistant.

The price quoted by Kohler for the new “smart toilet” should clearly limit the potential customer base for the device. The list price is $11,500. But then you also need a smart bathroom seat with all the bells and whistles. The manufacturer describes the device as the most advanced toilet in its product portfolio to date.

Numi 2.0 has an integrated mood light and can also be used as a music player via a Bluetooth connection. Extensive configuration options are available in conjunction with the Kohler Konnect app provided by the manufacturer. The toilet’s core features include an integrated bidet and a heated seat that can be opened and closed with voice commands.

A wall remote control is also included in the scope of delivery, with which almost all functions of the toilet can be used without a smartphone and Alexa.

App toilets are nothing new

While Kohler is making headlines here in particular with its Alexa connection, app-connected toilets are nothing fundamentally new. For example, Grohe in Germany has been selling its Sensia Arena shower toilet for several years now, which can also be connected via Bluetooth with a corresponding app. The number of toilet owners actually using Grohe’s old-looking Sensia Arena app is probably negligibly small.
