Zonguru Review by real users.

You can find a Zonguru review, or read comparisons like “Zonguru vs Jungle Scout” or “Zonguru vs Helium 10”, but how many are actually written by genuine users of the software? This one is.

To prove our authenticity and results here are screen shots from our Amazon account and Zonguru App when we first hit US$100K per month mark.

What is Zonguru?

The founders of Zonguru are Jon Tilley and Adam Hudson. Both are successful sellers on the Amazon platform with a first hand understanding of what it takes to make money online and on the world’s most competitive marketplace.

For that reason, they created Zonguru to be an intuitive suite of tools for Amazon sellers. Because it draws real-time data from Amazon, and Alibaba, it’s perfect for researching products, developing listings and tracking your results.

Zonguru Features.

Depending on how you view it, there are 17 separate features making up the Zonguru suite of tools. We use most of them.

The first 8 tools are for the product research phase. From searching for an idea, right through to creating a strong Amazon listing, driven by the keywords you want to target.

Then comes another 8 tools for when your products are live on Amazon.

To complete the package, there is the Zonguru Mobile App which gives you your sales results wherever you are.

Before we dive into those 17 tools, we need to discuss the the data they provide.

Reviewing the Accuracy of Zonguru

There is often discussion about the accuracy of information provided buy these 3rd party tools, particularly the sales volumes provided for all the products.

It seems the Amazon API does not simply provide Zonguru (or the other software providers) with sales data. They have to calculate those numbers from the data that is provided. So, we watched these numbers closely. After all, if the sales being reported by Zonguru were unreliable, the whole package would be useless as a research tool.

Amazon versus Zonguru Sales

We constantly compared the real sales volumes of our products from our Amazon account, with the sales Zonguru reported for those products on the Mobile App and the Chrome extension.

We found that when we first launched a product, and sales were low, the sales reported by Zonguru were only ballpark. But, more importantly, as sales increased so did the accuracy of Zonguru reporting.

This meant we could confidently use the sales volumes displayed by the Zonguru Chrome extension (Niche Rater) when investigating niches and products.

Any minor variations on low selling products had little effect on the overall niche results. Nor did they affect the top 50 -100 products where our research was really based.

Zonguru packages and Free Trials.

Zonguru know that until you have products ready to sell on Amazon, the seller tools are of little benefit. So, they offer two different packages which we explain below.

The first is for product researchers only, and the second is the complete package of research and seller management tools.

Lets take a look at these tools in turn

1. Niche Finder

This is the place to start when you have no idea where to begin.

Here we conduct random searches to explore product niches, or find new inspiration and ideas for the specific Niches we are already selling into. The detailed filters built in make deep diving much easier.

2. Niche Rater (Zonguru’s Chrome Extension)

This is where we spend most of our time and this tool alone is worth the subscription price.

As soon as you subscribe (or start a free trial) you can install and access the Zonguru Chrome extension.

Once installed, go to the Amazon platform of your choice and start running product searches. You can not only see all of the products in that niche , but all of the key data for each product and for the niche as a whole. Find out how competitive the Niche is, how much money you need up front to be competitive and explore the strengths of each product.

3. Sales Spy

Let Zonguru track the performance of products you are interested in over time

You will see up to a full year of history, seasonality, income streams, and any factors that might have impacted the results for each product. All by simply typing in the product ASIN.

4. Love-Hate

Once you find a product area you can compete in, you need to design (or modify) a product so it is uniquely yours, and better liked than the competition.

The only way to know what customers think about the products on Amazon is from the customer reviews. But that means reading through hundreds, or even thousands of them.

This Zonguru feature allows you to simply enter the product ASIN and it will collate the data from those reviews so you don’t have too.

5. Easy Source

Once you have selected a niche to sell into, considered the product, found ways to distinguish it from others, and worked out what customers don’t like, its time to find a supplier to create your product.

Zonguru is not only accredited with Amazon, but are in partnership with Alibaba as well.

From inside Zonguru, or from the Chrome extension, you can easily review suppliers for your product.

Not only that, but Zonguru has used Alibaba’s rating system to ensure you only see reputable and trustworthy options. You decide what country you wish to manufacture in and Alibaba provides options of manufacturers to contact.

Does Amazon have a Keyword Planner?

The short answer, surprisingly is no, but keywords are incredibly important on Amazon. That’s why Zonguru created this next tool.

6. Keywords on Fire

Once you have placed an order with a supplier, you will want to save some time by working on the data for your product listing.

Using Keywords on Fire you have all the data you need on the Keywords you are considering for your listing.

You can review search volumes, sales levels, and get an indication of the likely cost of each Keyword in Amazon pay per click advertising.

Check out which of the competing products do, and don’t rank for each Keyword, and save a lot of time by filtering out Keywords with ad costs outside of you budget.

The data you find can be easily exported to your Listing Optimizer for use when creating the listing.

7.Keywords Spotlight

Even some experienced Amazon sellers don’t realize that along with the content that can be seen on an Amazon listing, there are other hidden keywords helping to drive traffic.

With Keywords Spotlight you can find the terms being used by competitors and use them to power your product sales as well.

8. Listing Optimizer

This feature simply helps you get the best out of your listing.

It compares what you are creating along with your competitors listings and gives listing a rating for effectiveness.

Import your keywords from Keywords on Fire, and put them into the various listing blocks.

Zonguru will show you estimates of search traffic, sales, and a Listing Optimizer score for the listing you just created.

Just type in up to 8 of your competitor’s ASIN’s and you will see how well your draft listing rates compared to theirs. Then weave in some of the competitors keywords to increase your score. When you have a competitive listing, you can simply upload it straight on to Amazon.

Depending on the choice you make going in, after 7 days you will be charged either $39 per month or $288 for the annual subscription (saving 40% for live effectively).

How to cancel your Zonguru Subscription.

This is easy to do at anytime, but you must cancel the trial before the 7 days are up to avoid the charges.

Simply go to your Zonguru account, and click on your name in the top right corner. From there choose “Subscription Plan”  and cancel subscription at the bottom of the page.

Administrative Support

Whilst many of these tools are administrative (ie boring) don’t pass them over as unimportant.

When you have found yourself spending half of your day, everyday doing these things manually, the subscription cost is a tiny price for getting your life back.

9. Business Dashboard

Here you will find the overview to manage your Amazon business.

When you stipulate a date range, and an Amazon marketplace, you will see unit sales, revenues, margins and estimated profits for your products based on the information you have added.

Results can be viewed as Tables or Graphs, and are split between organic sales and PPC sales.

10. My Products

Here you can store details of each product. Costs, estimates of production and shipping times, as well as inventory levels both in Amazon FBA and elsewhere. Include transit times to get from your warehouse to FBA

The software uses your actual sales data, and the inventory information you provide to calculate the number of days sales you have in both FBA and external storage.  A great help when ordering from suppliers.

11. My Orders

Allows you to see your outgoing orders, either shipped or pending.

You nominate a product, time period, and ship status then Zonguru gives you details of the orders, the customer locations and links back to the order on Amazon.

12. Keyword Tracker

Another invaluable tool.

On a product by product basis, Zonguru lists your important keywords. It gives you actual search volumes for each word, your product’s current ranking as well as it’s ranking changes and trends.

Best of all, the graphs make it so easy to review.

Zonguru default settings only display the top 3 keywords, but you can add up to 50 more which will be tracked and reported on automatically.

13. Product Pulse

This is a very versatile feature because you can use it for 3 separate and essential tasks. Namely,  listing management, security and as a way to monitor what your competitors are doing.

If there are changes made to any of 15 important parts of your listing you get an email alert. This is critical as your business grows because hacking can happen and your team members can take actions that you didn’t specify. You need to be aware of these changes as they happen, and correct.

For a real competitive advantage, add your competitor’s products to your list and get Zonguru to warn you of any changes they are making, as they make them.

Never be blindsided by a competitors initiatives.

Your interaction with Customers on Amazon is very limited but essential, as are your customer reviews. Product pulse gives you an alert with every new review, allowing you to quickly respond to each customer and build customer satisfaction.

14. I.P Monitor

For your listings to be highly successful you might invest in copy writing, and you will need to buy high quality product images.

It’s easy for a competitor to copy parts of your listing or use your images.

I.P. Monitor will send you a report, specifying what has happened, and giving you a link straight to Amazon so you can report the fraudulent listing and have it taken down.

There are multiple levels of security available to you across all 9 major Amazon marketplaces.

15. Email Automator

Communicating with your customer after orders are received and dispatched is essential. So, most sellers spend up to $40 per month to integrate a service that does only that.

Zonguru does it for Free.

So if you are paying for email support, you effectively get the whole Zonguru package at no extra cost, if you switch over and cancel your existing service.

You still need to write and schedule  the outgoing messages, and make sure those messages comply with Amazon terms of Service (TOS) requirements, but Zonguru does the rest.

16. Review Automator

We have touched on the importance of gaining customer reviews, especially 5 star ratings.

These can decide the long-term success of your product because every potential buyer checks them, and they can be very hard to win.

Even though Amazon provides an easy option for you to request a Customer review the process is time consuming. You need to monitor the delivery of each order, watch for returns or complaints, and make sure that requests only go to customers with neither. And that they go at the right time

Zonguru, uses Amazon’s email system to make the requests of the right customers, at the right times. All in-line with TOS.

17. Zonguru Mobile App

The Zonguru Seller App is available on the Apple App Store, and gives you information on your product sales on the go.

You can see your unit and $ sales progressively for the current day, as well as the results for the previous day, the previous 7 days or the previous month.

Depending on how you set it up, the App will send you an audible alert each time you make a sale, or when certain sales milestones are met.

In the early days as an Amazon Seller, the now familiar Zonguru sales tone is a motivator, but as your sales volume grows you will probably want to turn it off.

Zonguru Training and Guides

Once inside, at the top of every screen there is a “Need Help?” button.

Behind that button is an Interactive tour of the tool you are using, and a video tutorial, together with FAQ’s and access to Support.

You can also join the free weekly training provided, and view past training sessions as well.

Zonguru Pricing

Unlike the fixed price subscription to the Research tools, a subscription to the entire seller Package is staggered. The more products you add to your Brand, the more tracking, reporting, and security Zonguru provides.

The pricing is on a sliding scale based on how many active (selling) products you have on Amazon.

I did have a friend complain to me about this scale. Then she realized that as she added more products, and paid a higher fee the value she received was actually increasing.

Not only that, as her Brand grew most of her management activity did not because Zonguru automated so much of it for her.

Summary of our Zonguru Review

The Zonguru team know what they are doing, and resources for subscribers keep growing.

We have used the Zonguru Seller tools for the past 3 years, starting when we had one, ill-conceived product, selling a few hundred dollars each month on Amazon.

With the help of the tools, and the abundant free training, we decided not to invest any more time or money in our original Niche, and pivoted.

We now have numerous products in two unrelated Niches, producing substantial monthly sales as you have seen.

From what we can see, (using our own factual sales as a reference point) the Zonguru data is accurate. And, our results suggest decisions made from that data were sound.

If we were starting our Amazon business again, an annual subscription to Zonguru (either Researcher or seller) would be our first investment. It would have saved us a lot of cash, and we would have been generating real money online at least a year sooner.
