Mahindra XUV 3XO Teased, Debut on April 29!

Mahindra has released a teaser video of their upcoming car the XUV 3XO. By the first glimpses of the teaser, it looks like this is going to be more than a Facelifted Xuv 300.

The XUV 300 has needed a facelift for a long time. Though Mahindra took their time, they took it a step further and decided to give the compact SUV a complete update.

XUV 3XO – A New SUV?

The teaser video suggests that the XUV 3XO is not just a facelifted XUV 300 but a completely new SUV. Only the rear has been revealed fully and it has been completely refreshed. It now gets a connected LED light bar with the tail lights bulging out from the sides. There is a roof spoiler, a redesigned bumper, and a large XUV 3XO badge.

There was very little of the front revealed. We can see a redesigned grille, a new headlamp cluster, and a new fog lamp unit as well. The XUV 3XO will also get redesigned alloys expected to be 17 inches.

Glimpses of the interior reveal premium leatherette upholstery. A premium sound system with subwoofers and a new connected infotainment screen could be equipped on the XUV 3XO.

What More to Expect?

Other than what was revealed in the teaser, we expect the XUV 3XO to get the below features as well:

  • ADRENOX Connectivity
  • Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
  • ADAS
  • Ventilated Seats
  • Three-Zone Climate Control
  • Smartwatch connectivity
  • Sunroof

In terms of powertrains, we expect them to be similar to the outgoing XUV 300. These include a 1.2 L 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine that produces 109 bhp and 200 Nm of torque. This comes mated to either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed AMT. The second option is in the form of a 1.5 L 4-cylinder turbo diesel that makes 115 bhp and 300 Nm of torque. This comes mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT.

Launch Timeline

The Mahindra Xuv 3XO will make its debut on April 29th. It is expected to go on sale soon after. While the XUV 3XO will replace the current XUV 300, it will face competition from the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, and others in the sub-4 meter segment.

Other Speculations

Mahindra had recently trademarked a few monikers namely 1XO, 3XO, 5XO, and 7XO. There are speculations that the XO suffix will be used for electric vehicles derived from ICE vehicles. However, it is highly unlikely that Mahindra will replace the XUV 400 anytime soon. We will wait and see what the actual story is. Stay tuned for more updates.
