“ETOwali” – India’s inaugural all-Women Electric 3-wheeler rally, spanning 3333 km from Kanyakumari to Kashmir over 30 days. This groundbreaking initiative aims to empower women by providing them with stable livelihoods as electric auto-rickshaw drivers.

The Journey of ETOwali

Embarking on a remarkable journey from Kanyakumari, the “ETOwali” rally comprises an 8-member crew navigating electric 3-wheelers, an electric motorcycle, and an electric SUV.

Encompassing key cities like Madurai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Indore, Jaipur, Delhi, and concluding in Jammu, the rally serves as a beacon, illuminating the potential of electric 3-wheelers as a viable employment opportunity for women.

Spreading Awareness and Driving Change

As part of the “ETOwali” program, supported by various State Transport and Women Welfare Ministries, the crew will conduct tailored awareness workshops.

These sessions aim to enlighten women about the benefits of electric vehicles (EVs) and how embracing electric 3-wheelers can transform them into micro-entrepreneurs.

With the flexibility of choosing working hours, women can increase their earning capabilities while contributing to a sustainable future.

Cutting-Edge Electric 3-Wheeler

Manufactured by Saera KETO in state-of-the-art facilities in Jadcherla (Telangana) and Bawal (Haryana), the electric 3-wheelers in the “ETOwali” rally boast cutting-edge features.

These include Fast Charge technology, a Vehicle Control Unit (VCU), and top-tier safety and comfort for both drivers and passengers.

Fostering Women’s Employment Opportunities

Surender Nath, Director at ETO Motors, expressed excitement about the “ETOwali” program, aligning closely with “ETO Empowers.”

This women empowerment initiative by ETO Motors focuses on providing fair employment opportunities, accompanied by enticing incentives like health and life insurance coverage.

The dual objective is to raise awareness about EVs and offer financing schemes, allowing women drivers to own their electric 3-wheelers.

The Phases of ETOwali

The “ETOwali” program unfolds in two phases. The initial phase, in March 2024, spotlights the women’s rally, creating awareness.

The second phase involves selecting and training 500 women, equipping them with the skills needed to drive electric 3-wheelers. These women will then launch services across multiple cities in India.

MOWO Social Initiatives

Campaign lead Ms. Jai Bharathi, Founder of MOWO Social Initiatives, emphasized the program’s significance in helping women drive electric 3-wheelers confidently.

This endeavor not only contributes to reducing the carbon footprint but also provides a source of livelihood, enhancing safety for women on the streets.

The collaboration with ETO Motors marks a significant step in creating a generation of confident women equipped with mobility as a skill for empowerment and employment.

ETO’s Innovative OWN-YOUR-ETO (OYE) Scheme

ETO Motors, through its “ETO Empowers” program, has already provided employment opportunities to over 1500 women across the country.

The “OWN-YOUR-ETO” (OYE) scheme incentivizes women drivers, offering free UNLIMITED CHARGING, vehicle maintenance, and driver partner insurance.

After a 36-month partnership, drivers have the opportunity to become the proud owners of their electric 3-wheelers.
