Aprilia Unveils RS 457 for Indian Market: A Closer Look

In a much-anticipated move, Aprilia has officially introduced the RS 457 to the Indian market, making it the most affordable motorcycle from the brand for Indian riders. Let’s dive into what this exciting addition brings to the table.

Aprilia RS 457 Design and Inspiration

The RS 457 takes inspiration from two iconic Aprilia models, the RS 660 and the RSV4. This influence is evident in its design, featuring striking split LED headlights adorned with a transparent visor. For enhanced aerodynamics, the RS 457 incorporates small fin-like vents on the side fairings, positioned just below the handlebar. Geared for the track, it assumes the identity of a true supersport motorcycle, demanding a committed rider stance. This translates to rear-set footpegs, low clip-ons, and a crouched riding position. Aprilia offers the RS 457 in three captivating paint options to cater to various style preferences.

Aprilia RS 457 Power and Performance

At the heart of the RS 457 resides a 457cc twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. Equipped with a 270-degree crankshaft, this powerplant churns out an impressive 47bhp and is paired with a six-speed gearbox. For those seeking seamless gear changes, Aprilia provides an optional quickshifter for clutchless upshifts. The RS 457 doesn’t hold back on rider aids either, boasting features like ride-by-wire, switchable three-level traction control, ride modes, and ABS. Monitoring these functions is a user-friendly five-inch TFT screen, offering seamless smartphone connectivity.

Aprilia RS 457 Handling

The RS 457 doesn’t compromise on its hardware setup. It boasts adjustable USD front forks and a monoshock, ensuring optimal handling and rider comfort. The braking system comprises front and rear discs equipped with ABS. These components are mounted on 17-inch wheels wrapped in TVS Protorq Extreme tires, further enhancing the bike’s performance and road grip.

Pricing and Competition

While Aprilia is yet to reveal the official pricing for the RS 457 in India, expectations are that it will surpass the Rs. 4 lakh mark (ex-showroom). Once launched, the RS 457 is set to compete with other formidable motorcycles in its class, including the KTM RC 390, BMW 310 R, TVS Apache RR 310, and the Kawasaki Ninja 300 and 400.

As the anticipation builds, Indian riders can look forward to a thrilling addition to the Aprilia lineup, promising an exhilarating blend of affordability, style, and performance.

Stay tuned for more updates on the Aprilia RS 457 as it prepares to hit the Indian roads.
