Aprilia has finally unveiled its twin-cylinder entry level sport bike on a global stage. And it goes by the name of the Aprilia RS 457. It will be manufactured at Piaggio’s facility in Baramati, Maharashtra.

Aprilia RS 457 Power Packed Performance

The heart of the RS 457 is a 48 horsepower parallel-twin engine, a testament to Aprilia’s commitment to delivering exhilarating power. This liquid-cooled engine, equipped with a 270-degree crank, not only promises refined performance but also an enthralling auditory experience. While a 6-speed gearbox is confirmed, details regarding the standard inclusion of a slip-assist clutch are still pending. An optional quickshifter will be available, though its bidirectionality remains uncertain.

Italian Engineering

Sharing its DNA with the larger RS 660, the RS 457 boasts an aluminum perimeter frame, signifying a focus on structural integrity and handling precision. Suspension duties are managed by a preload-adjustable 41mm USD front fork with 120mm of travel, complemented by a monoshock with 130mm of travel at the rear. With a dry weight of 159kg, the fully fueled RS 457 tips the scales at 175kg.

Braking proficiency is entrusted to a single 320mm front disc and a 220mm rear disc, both equipped with ByBre components. The motorcycle rides on TVS Eurogrip Protorq Extreme tires, a testament to the focus on superior traction and control.

The RS 457 comes loaded with features, including a 5.0-inch TFT display, illuminated switchgear, ride-by-wire technology, and a three-level traction control system. Craftsmanship is evident in details like the intricately designed aluminum triple clamp.

The clip-on handlebars, positioned above the fork clamp, promise a sporty yet comfortable riding posture, striking a balance between agility and comfort.

Aprilia RS 457 India Reveal

The RS 457 is set to make its grand entrance in India at the upcoming Indian MotoGP event. While its price point is expected to surpass that of the KTM RC 390, its local production in India hints at a more competitive price range compared to rivals like the Ninja 400. However, given Piaggio India’s penchant for premium offerings, the final pricing remains an intriguing prospect.
