Honda Elevate Gets a Launch Date

Honda’s latest entrant in the compact SUV segment, the Elevate finally gets a launch date. The prices for the Creta rival will be revealed on September 4.

Pricing and Variants

Bookings for the Elevate are already open at ₹21,000/-. Once launched, it is expected to be available in the SV, V, VX and ZX trims. We expect the range to start at ₹10.49 lakh for the base variant. However, Honda could price the Elevate aggressively to get an edge over the competition.

Powertrain

The Honda Elevate is powered by a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol motor that produces 119 hp and 145 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to either a 6-speed manual or a CVT unit. This is the only engine option offered with the Elevate. Though there won’t be a hybrid powertrain offered, Honda is working on an Elevate based EV for the future.

Competition

The Elevate will primarily compete with the Kia Seltos and the MG Astor given its ADAS capabilities. However, it also has the segment leader the Hyundai Creta in the competition that is due for a facelift which will get ADAS. At the Japanes end of things, there’s the Toyota UC Hyryder and the Suzuki Grand Vitara both of which get Hybrid powertrains. While at the German end we have the Skoda Kushaq and the VW Taigun which are safety cdahamps and offer the best performance and handling in the segment.

Watch

We have already driven both the manual and CVT variants and you can watch this review video to know what are initial impressions are.
