Kia Sonet Facelift: New ADAS Features and Upgrades

Kia has been making waves in the compact SUV market with its popular Sonet model. As the competition heats up in this segment, Kia is gearing up to introduce a facelift for the Kia Sonet that promises some exciting new features. New features include Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Let’s take a closer look at what to expect from the upcoming Sonet Facelift.

Kia Sonet ADAS Features: Quality Over Quantity

While the new Seltos boasts an impressive array of 17 Level-2 autonomous ADAS features, the Sonet facelift is set to offer a more focused selection. Sources suggest that the Sonet facelift will come equipped with around 7 to 8 ADAS features, each carefully chosen to enhance the driving experience and safety.

Moreover, the introduction of ADAS features in the Sonet facelift could trigger a race among other sub-4m SUVs to incorporate similar advanced safety technologies. With growing awareness of the benefits of ADAS, consumers are prioritizing these features that have the potential to proactively prevent accidents. This can potentially make ADAS-equipped vehicles even safer than those that score highly in crash tests alone. The ideal combination might be a car with both ADAS capabilities and top crash test ratings, providing occupants with comprehensive protection.

Top Safety Upgrades

The Sonet facelift won’t just stop at ADAS. It’s also set to receive a boost in its safety kit, with the addition of a 360° surround-view camera. This added perspective will aid drivers in navigating tight spaces and parking with confidence. The current Sonet already boasts an impressive lineup of safety features, including six airbags, electronic stability control. Moreover, hill start assist control, vehicle stability management, parking sensors, and a tire pressure monitoring system will also be included.

Kia Sonet Design and Interior Upgrades

Beyond safety enhancements, the Sonet facelift is expected to receive several cosmetic updates. These include new headlights, a refreshed grille, LED daytime running lights (DRLs), and updated front and rear bumpers. The rear of the Sonet facelift will feature new tail lamps inspired by the Seltos, along with a sporty dual-tone treatment on the bumper. Inside, the SUV is getting a complete makeover with an updated dashboard design and fresh upholstery. Notably, existing features like front ventilated seats, a wireless charger, Bose audio system, and a smart air purifier will carry over to the facelifted model.

The Price Point and Launch Date

The inclusion of ADAS and other upgrades is likely to impact the Sonet facelift’s pricing. The current model is priced between Rs 7.79 lakh to Rs 13.09 lakh (ex-showroom). The ADAS-equipped variant is expected to be available only in the top-spec versions. Interested buyers can expect the new Sonet to hit the market later this year or in early 2023.

In the competitive landscape of compact SUVs, the upcoming Kia Sonet facelift promises to stand out with its thoughtfully selected ADAS features, safety enhancements, and design updates. As the anticipation builds, consumers can look forward to a safer, more advanced, and stylish driving experience with the refreshed Kia Sonet.
