Tata is preparing to launch the facelift version of Harrier and Safari in the market. The carmaker will start its production in the coming weeks. Now, the interior images of the Safari facelift went viral on the internet. Here are more details:

The interior of the new Tata Safari facelift

In the spy shots, the interior features a new dashboard layout, and the trim which looks premium and upmarket. The carmaker has limited the usage of physical buttons in the new Safari.

Meanwhile, the dashboard gets a fully digital instrument cluster and a new infotainment system with sharp edges. Also, it gets the new 4-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls. This design is similar to the one seen on the Sierra EV showcased at the Auto Expo in 2023.

Apart from that, the new Safari gets the new AC controls with gloss black panels and toggle buttons. With these buttons, the temperature and fan speed of the AC system can be controlled. The AC vents retain their trapezoidal shape but their positioning is upside down.

The dashboard also gets the new leatherette upholstery with contrast stitching on its lower part. However, the upper part gets the gloss black insert. The Central console area gets the new gear lever and the rotary drive mode selector.

In comparison to the current version, the new gear lever looks small but the rotary selector is bigger in size. We expect that the Harrier facelift will also get similar changes in its interior.

Powertrain, Launch, and the Competition

The new Tata Safari will get a new 1.5L T-GDi turbocharged petrol engine. We can expect that the new petrol engine will make 170ps of power and 250nm of torque. The carmaker will provide a new 7-Speed DCT gearbox with this engine.

Meanwhile, the SUV will retain its 2.0L Kryotec diesel engine. This engine makes 170ps of power and 350nm of torque. However, it will continue with 6-Speed Manual and Automatic Transmission.

We can expect that the carmaker will launch the new Safari in the upcoming Diwali festive season. After the launch, the SUV will continue to compete with Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector Plus, Mahindra Scorpio-N, Hyundai Alcazar, and Kia Carens.
