Mercedes-Benz has recently unveiled its new sports car, the CLE. This is the latest entrant in the carmaker’s lineup and will replace the coupe version of the C-Class and E-Class. In this article, we have mentioned the expectations from the Indian-spec Mercedes-Benz CLE:
Exterior Design of the new Mercedes-Benz CLE-Class
The design language of the new Mercedes-Benz CLE is sporty and flamboyant like its other siblings. However, certain design cues are borrowed from the coupe version of the C-Class and E-Class. The new CLE features a trapezoidal grille with a Mercedes logo and chrome slats, slim LED headlights, a long bonnet, and a sporty bumper.
Meanwhile, the design of the CLE is further highlighted by the character lines on the hood, doors, and panels. Additionally, it features a sloping roof, which adds to its coupe styling. The new CLE sits on 18-inch light alloys. But this car will also be available with the options of 19-inch AMG-line and 20-inch alloys.
The rear of the CLE features a steeply inclined rear windshield merging with the tailgate’s lid and rear end. Meanwhile, it gets LED taillights and a bumper with a diffuser, adding a sporty touch to its styling.
Interior and Features of the New Mercedes-Benz CLE-Class
Like the exterior, the carmaker is offering an all-new design and layout of the interior. The theme of the interior is beige and black, featuring silver accents and trim on the dashboard. Meanwhile, the base variant of the CLE gets black Artico Leather upholstery, but the higher variants get Artico/Microcut black upholstery.
On the dashboard, certain design elements might remind you of the C-Class. The dash features stylish round AC Vents, an advanced 12.3-inch instrument cluster, an 11.9-inch infotainment system, and a multi-functional steering wheel. The following are the features of the new CLE:

Meanwhile, the transmission duties are done by a 9-Speed 9G-Tronic Automatic Transmission. All the variants of the CLE support the EQ boost feature, supplying an additional 200nm of torque output.
Launch timeline, Competition, and the Opinion
Mercedes-Benz will launch the new CLE in the global markets, which is expected in early 2024. However, it is expected that the carmaker might bring the CLE to Indian shores as well.
Initially, the carmaker will launch the coupe-only version, and the convertible will make its debut later. The CLE will take on its rivals such as BMW 4 Series 2-door version after its launch.
The new Mercedes-Benz CLE is the latest 2-door offering from the house of the German carmaker. The new CLE is all set to replace the 2-door versions of the C-Class and the E-Class. With this coupe, the carmaker will offer an affordable 2-door sports car that can be used for fun to drive experience with less weight than the sedans.
However, the carmaker will not comprise the features and equipment of the CLE. Moreover, it even gets a variety of engine options to choose from. But we expect that the CLE would get an aggressive state of tune for a punchy performance. The sporty character of the CLE is likely to be highlighted by the tuning of suspension, steering, and brakes on the stiffer side for better handling.
