Triumph Speed 400 vs Harley Davidson X440: Performance and Power Delivery
Both bikes are equipped with a single-cylinder engine. But the Speed 400 has a liquid cooling system which is better than the Air/oil-cooled setup of the X440. In terms of the riding experience, the Speed 400 has a good grunt in the higher rev band. The engine of the Speed 400 is rev friendly and has a better and quicker redline. Moreover, the difference of more power in Speed 400 is evident during redlining of the engine.
However, the Harley Davidson has its advantages. This motorcycle has more torque at the lower rev band. The low-end torque in the X440 is better than Speed 400. By just twisting the throttle, the X440 starts delivering its torque at the lower revs but it redlines earlier than the Speed 400. Since the redline is lower in X440, the cruising capabilities are better in Harley than in the Triumph Speed 400.
Triumph Speed 400 vs Harley Davidson X440: Ride Quality and Handling
As per the riding experience, the Triumph Speed 400 has better handling of the duo. The position of the foot pegs is slightly upward in the Triumph which makes it the better in terms of cornering. However, on the flip side, the Harley has a lower foot peg position which can scrape more easily than the Triumph during cornering.
The Speed 400 has a shorter wheelbase than the x440 which makes the Triumph easier to maneuver. But, the road presence of the X440 is better due to its large dimensions and bigger-looking presence. The suspension setup is tuned differently in both of these motorcycles. While the Speed 400 has better dynamics, the X440 provides better ride quality.
Triumph Speed 400 vs Harley Davidson X440: Verdict
Both these bikes have their advantages. While the Triumph Speed 400 has a better redline, better quality levels, and better dynamics. But the Harley Davidson X440 has a better road presence, better cruising capabilities, and an impressive low-end torque.
If you are the one looking for a bike that has sporty dynamics, better cornering capabilities, and redline the beast, then you should consider the Triumph Speed 400. However, If you are looking for a bike that has road presence, better cruising capabilities, and better low-end grunt, then you should consider the Harley Davidson X440.
