Renault Duster was an instant hit around the globe, especially in India where Duster was the backbone behind the Renault’s Indian journey and by far it was the best selling car for Renault in India.

All New Duster

The third-generation Renault Duster is noticeably larger than its previous model. It is built on the CMF-B platform. Which allows for different types of powertrain options, including internal combustion engines, hybrid systems, and fully electric setups. The car’s design draws inspiration from the Renault Bigster concept, giving it a commanding and impressive presence. The front fascia is particularly eye-catching and brings to mind the appearance of the Honda ASIMO robot. It showcases three stacked LED elements that converge towards the center. Where either the Dacia badge or Renault badge will be positioned. In previous spy shots, only the outer LED elements were illuminated. However new images reveal that both the outer and middle LED elements are now lit up. We eagerly await future spy shots to see if the inner LED elements will also be illuminated.

As depicted, the redesigned Duster follows the design direction set by the Bigster concept, resulting in a more expressive front fascia. This includes rectangular headlights and a slimmer grille integrated with an LED light bar.

Additionally, there is an evolved front bumper that now incorporates vertical air curtains. These are accompanied by a prominent central intake and a component that resembles a faux skid plate, located below the bumper.

Details

Dacia hasn’t provided much information about the new Duster, but they did confirm that production of the redesigned model will begin next year at their plant in Romania. They also mentioned that the Duster will be built on the CMF-B platform, which allows for different types of engines, including combustion, alternative, and hybrid options. This ensures that the Duster will meet changing regulations.

As for the powertrain choices, it’s possible that the Duster will share options with other vehicles using the same platform. There have been rumors about a potential plug-in hybrid version, while there are also whispers that diesel engines might not be available anymore.

We expect Renault to launch the new Duster in India given the fan following of the current first generation variant. We believe Renault would love capitalize on the hottest segment in the country the “small to mid size SUV”.
