Kia Motors is on the verge of launching the facelift version of the new Seltos in India. Ahead of its launch on 4th July, Kia has dropped a teaser of the Seltos facelift. Let’s have a look at the details of the New Seltos:

Kia has officially dropped a teaser of the upcoming Seltos. The teaser has highlighted several new elements in the SUV, giving it a refreshed look. Upfront, it gets a redesigned fascia with a sharp new grille, LED DRLs extending to the grille, revised LED headlights, and new bumpers with skid plates.

The teaser has also showcased the new elongated LED taillights and a light bar. The light bar covers the entire width span of the tailgate. Moreover, the teaser has unveiled the new interior of the Seltos. In the interior, the new Kia Seltos facelift gets an all-black theme for the GT line, a beige and black theme for the tech line, and a revised dashboard. The new Seltos features a twin-screen set-up with one for a digital instrument cluster and the other for an infotainment system. Moreover, the new Seltos facelift will get a panoramic sunroof, a new steering wheel, a 360-degree camera, an Auto AC, new AC vents, and a new central console.

Powertrain Options

At the heart of the matter of the new Kia Seltos will be the new 1.5L 4-cylinder turbocharged T-GDi petrol engine. This new engine also powers the new Verna, Alcazar, and Carens, producing 160hp and 253nm of output. Meanwhile, Kia will also provide the 1.5L VTVT petrol and CRDi diesel engines. While the VTVT makes 114hp and 144nm, the CRDi diesel churns out 114hp and 250nm of output.

In terms of the gearbox, the 1.5L VTVT will be available with a 6-speed manual and CVT automatic transmission. The 1.5L CRDi will be available with a 6-Speed IMT and 6-Speed Automatic Transmission. The new T-GDi will be offered with 6-speed IMT and 7-speed DCT gearbox options only.

The launch timeline, competition, and the opinion

The new Kia Seltos Facelift is slated for its debut on the 4th of July 2023, while the prices will be revealed later. However, we can expect a sweet price point of Rs. 11-20 Lakhs Ex-showroom. The new Kia Seltos facelift will take on Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Some other rivals are Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, MG Astor, and the upcoming Honda Elevate and Citroen C3 Aircross.

Kia debuted in India with the Seltos in 2019, it gained an immense response from the market. After a while, Kia will update the Seltos with a new mid-life facelift version. We can expect that the new Seltos will be brimmed with new features, revised aesthetics, and premium appeal. Moreover, the new Seltos will get the powerful 1.5L T-GDi petrol engine. With these updates, we can expect a significant gain in the sales of Seltos depending on the pricing.
