Mahindra launches XUV700 in Australia

One of the prominent SUV makers, Mahindra has launched the new Xuv700 in the Australian market. The vehicle entered the Australian shores after 2 years of its launch in the Indian market. The SUV maker has launched it in 2 variants: AX7 and AX7L and only petrol automatic powertrain is on offer. Mahindra has retailed the XUV700 in Australia at an Indian equivalent price of Rs. 20.72-22.41 Lakhs.

Features of Australian Mahindra XUV700

Mahindra has completely brimmed the XUV700 with a plethora of advanced features to gain the attraction of the audience. The XUV700 boasts the features like a twin 10.25-inch display, one is for a digital instrument cluster and the other is an infotainment system. While the other features are dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, and SONY 12-speaker 3D sound system. The Australian version is only available with a 7-seating layout.

On the safety aspect, Mahindra has recently scored a 5-star safety rating at Global NCAP. However, the Australian version of XUV700 is equipped with advanced safety features. The safety features are 7 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a 360-degree camera, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). The ADAS package includes various features like adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, and high-beam assist.

Powertrain and colour options

The Australian version of the Mahindra XUV700 is powered by only the 2.0L 4-cylinder T-GDi M-Stallion petrol engine. This engine is also available in the Indian version along with the 2.2L M-hawk diesel engine. However, the Australian version produces a similar output of 200ps and 380nm as the Indian version. The customers can only opt for a 6-Speed Automatic Transmission in the Australian spec Mahindra XUV700.

In Australia, Mahindra XUV700 is available in colours like Dazzling Silver, Electric Blue, Everest White, Midnight Black, and Red Rage.

Pricing, warranty, and the competition

In Australia, Mahindra has launched the XUV700 at an Indian equivalent price of Rs. 20.72-22.41 Lakhs. This pricing is significantly cheaper than the Indian version by 2.5 Lakhs. Moreover, Mahindra is offering a warranty package of up to 7 years or 1.5 lakh km. This SUV has locked horns with its rivals like Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector, and Tata Safari in India.
