MG Introduces More Variants of the Comet EV

Recently, MG launched its smallest electric vehicle, the Comet. Earlier, it was available in one variant but now the brand has introduced more variants of this vehicle. The brand has named the variants of Comet: Pace, Play and Plush.

Dimensions and Variant wise features

The compact MG Comet is a stylish two-door car accommodating 4 passengers. Its dimensions measure 2974 mm in length, 1505 mm in width, and 1640 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2010 mm. However, its boot space is quite limited when all seats are occupied.

The base trim level of the MG Comet, known as the Pace, comes with an impressive full digital cluster, power-adjustable ORVM, and reverse parking sensors.

Stepping up to the mid-level Play variant, you’ll find space grey interiors, a floating twin display, wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay, and internet-connected features.

For those looking for the most luxurious version of the MG Comet, the top-of-the-line EV Plush variant comes with a smart start system, the digital key with Bluetooth technology, and all the features from the Comet Play trim.

About the Electric powertrain

The new MG Comet features a 17.3kWh IP67-rated battery pack with a claimed range of 230kms. Moreover, the brand will provide a 3.3kW battery charger that takes 7 hours to fully charge the vehicle. The new Comet gets a single electric motor making 42hp of power and 110nm of torque output. The power is channeled to the rear wheels via an Automatic Transmission.

Pricing and other details

MG has retailed its latest Comet product at Rs. 7.98 Lakh onwards Ex-showroom. As per MG, the running cost of Comet is Rs. 519 per 1000 km. MG offers 3 years of standard warranty on Comet along with an 8-year battery warranty. Customers can opt for the 80+ E-shield package brimmed with a service package and extended warranty.

The brand also offers a buyback offer in which customers can return the car after 3 years at 60% of its value. The brand will commence the bookings from 15 May 2023 and deliveries from 23 May 2023 onwards. The MG Comet EV has locked its horns with India’s Tata Tiago EV and Citroen eC3.
