Nissan India has updated the Nissan Magnite SUV with new powertrains ahead of the implementation of new emission regulations. Furthermore, the Japanese automaker also updated the feature list in the Magnite SUV.

What’s New?

The company has given the model a host of new safety features in an attempt to boost its sales. The Magnite is offered in five variants- XE, XL, XV Executive, XV, and XV Premium. Its top variant gets a 360-degree camera and around 50 connected car features and Smartwatch connectivity.

In July 2022, Nissan launched the Magnite Red Edition which gets a red accent on the grille, front bumper cladding, wheel arch, and body side cladding. The colour theme continues on the inside, with a red-themed dashboard, a red accent on the door side armrest, and a centre console.

Another addition to the exterior of the SUV is body graphics, tail door garnish, and a prominent Red Edition-specific badge.

New Safety Features

As part of the new MY2023 update, the Nissan Magnite now gets additional safety features such as a tyre pressure monitor, hill start assist, traction control system, Hydraulic Brake Assist, and vehicle dynamic control. The standard safety kit on the crossover includes hill start assist and hydraulic brake assist along with other safety features.

Engines & Powertrain

The Nissan Magnite offers two engine options which have both been made RDE-compliant now, similar to its alliance partner – Renault. A 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, 71 BHP, naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 96 Nm torque and a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, 99BHP, turbo petrol unit that produces 160 Nm torque.

Both engines come with a 5-speed manual transmission as standard. The 1.0 litre turbo petrol engine is also offered with a CVT option.

Pricing

The company has hiked the price of the 2023 Magnite by Rs 20,500. So now, the Magnite has a starting price of Rs. 5.97 lakh, ex-showroom.
