RE Super Meteor 650 to be Revealed at EICMA

Royal Enfield has finally announced the previewing of the Super Meteor 650 cruiser after years of spy photos. It will be presented on November 8 at the EICMA 2022 in Italy and is anticipated to debut in India on November 18–20 at Rider Mania 2022.

The teaser highlights the Super Meteor 650’s dark grey rear, which goes well with the bike’s striking appearance. The teaser revealed the Tripper Navigation pod, a semi-digital dashboard taken from the Royal Enfield Meteor 350, a split seat configuration, a broad and curved rear fender, and a circular-shaped LED taillight. It will be the third motorcycle built on the 650cc Enfield platform, and its 648cc, air/oil-cooled, the parallel-twin engine is expected to generate similar power and torque numbers.

CEAT Zoom Cruze tyres, which are also used on the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650, were spotted on the test mule. It is unclear whether this bike has a 19-inch or an 18-inch alloy wheel up front, but it may be the former because the tyre manufacturer produces 19-inch tyres specifically for the Super Meteor and later the Shotgun 650.

The Super Meteor 650 has the same thick handlebar grips and levers as the Meteor 350 and the Classic 350, as can be noticed upon closer scrutiny. The rotary switchgear from the 350cc brothers is also included. However, this bike is completed in silver as opposed to the smaller bikes.

Although the Super Meteor 650 shares a platform with the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650, it has certain distinctive features that are appropriate for its intended use. It has a large wheelbase, a low profile, and obviously offers relaxed ergonomics in traditional cruiser flair. Alloy wheels suspended by USD forks and dual springs make up the bicycle’s componentry, while a single disc is used for both ends’ braking.

The bike’s accessories are all primarily designed to increase its touring comfort. The big, cushioned pillion backrest, chrome-finished crash guards, and tall windscreen are the most noticeable features. The mirrors also don’t appear like the stock ones and might be from RE’s line of touring accessories.
