When it comes to the famous personalities of Pakistan, no other country in the world can even come close to the inspiring legends we had and have.

Pakistani has some of the most genius and bravest individuals who were not afraid of standing up to the world, and their selfless devotion made Pakistan what it is today.

Abdul Sattar Edhi

Abdul Sattar Edhi was, is, and will always be the pride of Pakistan. The list of what he did for Pakistan and other countries in the world is enormously long, and it is impossible to cover his whole journey in a paragraph.

Edhi Sahab was a philanthropist, social activist, and probably among the best humanitarians in the world. Abdul Sattar Edhi started the Edhi foundation in 1951, it runs the world’s largest network of volunteer ambulances.

Edhi foundation is home to hundreds of orphans and women as it successfully runs an orphanage, women’s shelter, and nursing homes. It’s one of the best NGOs in Pakistan that also has food kitchens and rehabilitation centres to entertain mentally ill patients and addicts.

He passed away in 2016.

Imran Khan

Imran Khan is among the most inspiring personalities of Pakistan. He has always inspired the youth of Pakistan with his sense of conviction and devotion. People of all ages idolize him and for his intellect and personality. 

He is the only Pakistani cricket team captain who brought the World Cup to Pakistan by leading the team. With the prize money he received, he opened a Cancer hospital known as “Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital.” More than 75% of patients at this hospital get free Cancer treatment. 

In 1996 he joined politics leading his own campaign called “Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.” After a long and tiring journey of 22 years, he finally became the Prime Minister of Pakistan as people realized his struggle and hard work for the country.

Arfa Karim

Arfa Abdul Karim Randhawa became the youngest Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) in 2004. She was a child prodigy, and her achievements are surely praiseworthy.

Her name was added to the Guinness Book of World Records, and she kept the title of youngest MCP until 2008.

One of her achievements was the highest literary award in Pakistan, the “Presidential Pride of Performance” in 2005. When Arfa was just 10 years old, she was invited by Bill Gates himself to visit Microsoft headquarters.

Arfa made Pakistan proud and brought a lot of positivity to the country. Sadly Arfa passed away in 2012 when she was only 16 years old. She had a fatal cardiac arrest which she could not fight against.

Moin Akhtar

Moin Akhtar is a name that even the youngest child in a household knows about. Pakistan has seen many performers, but Moin Akhtar is undoubtedly the best we have ever had.

It will be impossible to see someone with even half the talents and wits that Moin Akhtar possessed. He played a significant role in the Pakistani media industry and gave life to some of the most amazing characters that are still fresh in our memories.

Moin Akhtar was a favourite for millions as he was an outstanding impersonator, actor, comedian, and an impeccable poet. He bid farewell to this world on 22nd April 2011 and saddened millions of his fans all around the world.

Mir Zafar Ali

Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan

Abdul Qadeer Khan is most definitely a national hero because of his contribution to our country. Dr. A.Q Khan is a nuclear scientist and a metallurgical engineer who developed nuclear weapons for Pakistan and made our country proud.

He is generally credited for developing gas centrifuge enrichment technology for Pakistan’s nuclear capability. Qadeer Khan successfully and responsibly led the nuclear program of Pakistan for almost 25 years.

He is awarded the most prestigious awards in Pakistan like Hilal-i-Imtiaz in 1989 and Nishan-i-Imtiaz in 1996 and 1999. Known as the “Father of Pakistan’s Nuclear Bomb,” he’s among the most celebrated Pakistanis and will remain because of his achievements.

If it weren’t for his hard work and conviction Pakistan wouldn’t have the power it has today. Although we never want to be in a scenario to use our nuclear weapons but having the technology certainly puts us in a better position.

Jahangir Khan

Jahangir Khan is a world-renowned squash player from Pakistan. He was the former No.1 professional squash player. Jahangir is known to be the greatest squash player the world has ever seen.

His achievements include 6 World Open Championships and 10 British Open Championships. He has 6 gold, 3 silver, and 2 bronze medals to his names.

Jahangir retired as a player in 1993 and became the president of the World Squash Federation from 2002-2008. He is now the Emeritus President of the World Squash Federation.

Jahangir Khan brought fame to Pakistan because of all the right reasons, and it is because of him that a game like squash became a sensation in Pakistan.

Benazir Bhutto 

Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto was the very first democratically elected female Prime Minister of Pakistan and other Islamic states worldwide.

She inherited her leadership qualities from her father Zulfikar Ali Bhutto who was the leader of the Pakistan People’s Party and a former PM of Pakistan. 

After Zulfikar Ali Bhutto died, Benazir Bhutto took over and led the political party until the time of her death in 2007. She faced and got through all the highs and lows you could imagine.

Benazir Bhutto resided in the office twice. She was the PM in 1988-1990 and then again in 1993-1997. Inspired certainly millions of women all over the world, her struggle is an inspiration in itself. 

She was assassinated by a gunshot in 2007 during her election campaign rally and left millions of followers behind.

Dr Naweed Syed

Dr Syed is a globally renowned scientist and researcher of Pakistani descent and the Department of Cell Biology and Anatomy director at Canada’s Hotchkiss Brain Institute at the University of Calgary.

He was the very first scientist to ‘attach brain cells to a silicon chip.’ This is undoubtedly a tremendous achievement for Pakistan.

Linking brain cells to electrical chips offers the possibility of taking artificial intelligence technology to the next level. Dr Syed is at the forefront of this pursuit, making Pakistan proud every step of the day.

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan had the most amazing and powerful voice in Pakistan. His voice was considered to be the greatest voice ever recorded in Pakistan. He is among the most famous singers not only in Pakistan but in the world.

Khan was well-known for his vocal strength and ability to perform at high notes with great intensity for numerous hours. He is widely regarded as the best Sufi vocalist in Urdu and Punjabi language and the world’s best Qawwali singer ever.

He collaborated and performed with Western performers, eventually becoming a well-known worldwide musician. Nusrat also travelled widely, performing in more than 40 countries representing Pakistan on an international stage.
