Researchers in Tel Aviv, Israel, have conducted a clinical trial on the safety and efficacy of CBD Gelatin Capsules. Their findings were published in the November 2017 issue of the Clinical Pharmacolody in Drug Development journal. The objective of the study was to determine the safety of CBD in different dosages, as well as, the effectiveness of using gelatin capsules as a delivery system.
The trial compared the administration of CBD via gelatin capsules to the pharmaceutical Sativex, an oral spray containing CBD that is currently being prescribed for multiple sclerosis (MS) in the UK, Spain, Australia and Canada. The human study was comprised of 10mg and 100mg doses of Cbd Gelatin Capsules, after which CBD levels were measured by blood tests. Although the Sativex oral spray reached the blood stream quicker than the gelatin capsules, the capsules provided higher peak levels of CBD. The authors concluded that gelatin capsules provide a “user-friendly oral formulation that demonstrated safe and efficient delivery of CBD and therefore could be an attractive candidate for therapeutic indications.”
Studies such as this continue to prove the safety and value of different types of CBD therapy. You can read more about the clinical trial here.
