Self-Administration of CBD Leads to Striking Lung Cancer Response

Researchers from Stoke on Trent, United Kingdom, are conducting an ongoing study of new drugs and therapies for patients with Lung Cancer.  Lung cancer has been and still is associated with a very poor prognosis in spite of new drugs and therapies.  It is common for patients to only have a partial response and to relapse during follow-up.  While this in-vitro and in-vivo research is being conducted, researchers are also monitoring all patients to see if the disease responds to treatments not considered “standard” in clinical practice.

One patient that declined chemo therapy recently began self-administering CBD oil on a daily basis for 30 days.  When this patient went back in for routine scans of his lung cancer, the tumors had begun to decrease in size.  Upon discussion, researchers identified that the only change in this man’s lifestyle was the self-administration of CBD oil.  Further research is needed to understand and evaluate the mechanisms of action of CBD on malignant cells and its possible application in treatment of lung cancer and other cancers.
