1. Open Facebook:

Tap on Facebook application represented with a white box and blue “F”. After this, the app will ask for the login ID and password. 

2. Tap “Need Help”:

Here, you need to tap on the “Need Help” option to continue to reset your Facebook password. 

3. Tap “Forget Password”:

Once you tap on the “Need Help” button, you will be presented with a new page to reset the Facebook password. 

4. Provide Email Address Or Phone Number:

On the reset Facebook password page, you will vacant tabs. There tap box located at the top of the page and provide your email address or Phone Number linked with your account. 
In case, you haven’t connected Facebook through your phone number then you will be required to provide your email address to get the new password. 

•  And, if you have never synced your Facebook with your email address then you will be required to enter your phone number to receive the link for reset password. 
• The third possibility, if you have not associated your phone number and email address both with your Facebook account, then you will be required to tap “Search by your name instead” tab and type in your full name as it appears on Facebook. 

5. Hit “Search”:

Once you type your full name, then you will have to hit the “Search” button (blue box) located at the bottom right corner in the text box. This will prompt Facebook to look for your name. 

6. Select Recovery Method:

Here, you will be provided with two recovery options, but before this, you need to tap on “This is me” link so that Facebook could get your confirmation that it is you looking to reset your password. 

Note: Facebook offers too many security options for every user so that they could run Facebook without any trouble and security threat. 
Now you will two recovery option:

Confirm via SMS: If you select this option, then you will get a confirmation link over your phone through a message. 
Confirm via email: If you select confirmation via email, then a security code will be sent on your email. 

7. Tap “Continue”:

Once you have selected an option to receive security code, then you have to tap on the “Continue” button located just below the options recovery options. This will prompt Facebook to send you a code through text or email. 

8. Enter The Code:

Once you receive the code either through SMS or an email- enter the six-digit code in the required tab and tap on the “Continue” button again (will be a blue box).
Doing so will take you to a new password creation page. 

9. Enter A New Password:

Now, create a new password for your Facebook account. 

Note: Ensure to create a strong and unique Facebook password with special characters, alphabets, and numbers. 

10. Tap “Continue”:

Now, tap on the “Continue” button, this will replace the old password with a new one. 
Access your Facebook account with a new password easily. 

On Desktop:

1. Open Facebook Website:

Open your preferred web browser and then enter Facebook.com in the search tab. 
This will take you to Facebook’s home page.
 

2. Click Forget Account:

Now, you need to click on the link “Forget Password” located just below the text box in the upper-right side of the page. 

This step will take you to the “Find your account” page. 

3. Enter Email Or Phone Number:

In the next step, you need to click on the text box located in the middle of the page. Then, type in the email address or your phone number associated with your account. 
In case, you haven’t connected Facebook through your phone number then you will be required to provide your email address to get the new password. 

• And, if you have never synced your Facebook with your email address then you will be required to enter your phone number to receive the link for reset password.

4. Search:

Click on the “Search” option located below the text box- this will simply locate your account. 

5. Select Reset Option:

Now, you will be required to pick up one of the following options:

Send Code Via email:  Through this, you will get a six-digit code to the email address which you have provided while creating the account. 
Send Code Via SMS:  Through this, you will receive a six-digit code to the phone number associated with your Facebook profile. 

6. Click Continue:

After selecting the option to reset the Facebook password, you need to click on the “Continue” button, after which you will receive the security code. 

7. Enter The Six-Digit Code:

When you will click on the “Continue” button, you will get a new page with a blank tab, there you need to enter the six-digit code, doing so will take you to a new password reset page. 

8. Enter A New Password:

Now, you have the option to create a new password for your Facebook account. Create a new password with strong characters, alphabets, and numbers.
