Raj Goodman Anand recently joined an episode of the popular Broken Bulbs Podcast to talk about why he was taking 280 flights a year and how he believes you can still service your clients without face-to-face communication.  

The podcast begins with Raj explaining how intense his travel schedule was when working for a Spanish company that required him to travel around the world. Raj talks about the personal touch and the norm of having face-to-face contact with your clients regularly, pre-pandemic . Now, he runs Goodman Lantern, a 100% remotely-run business that helps companies around the world. Initially, he intended to run his company from a boat while making it convenient for everyday operations to take place online. 

This episode provides listeners with thoughtful insights into why remote working is the most effective way to run a business, especially when working across the globe. According to Anand, customers appreciate connecting online – and don’t always feel the need to see you in person. Since the pandemic hit, it has become standard practice, and much easier and safer, for most communication to happen online. 

Beyond this, working remotely provides people with more time for themselves and developing interpersonal relationships. It also helps with time management. Anand also talks about the importance of a strong company culture and the role it plays in the success of a remote-run business. By having the same values and ambitions as a team, learning and growing together becomes easier.
