Negative Feedback From Homeowners Should Not Cause Panic

HOA board members work round the clock to ensure their community’s needs are met and everything is running smoothly. Even if a good record of work is being listed, there are issues which homeowners seem to never agree with and are always giving Negative Feedback and complaints about. It is beneficial for the board to take these comments positively and work to change that criticism into a positive learning experience.

Acknowledging the issue and offering solutions achievable to homeowners is a good way to strike off negative Feedback or issues of unpleasant responses. A good HOA board will listen to homeowners’ issues and try to offer solutions that are reasonable to the complainant. It is a good way of showing concern and a listening ear to homeowners’ feedback in different areas of the community association lifestyle.

Defensive responses and reactions are a major cause of disagreements in a community. HOA boards and property management companies in charge are encouraged to listen to homeowners complaints and take time to think of it before offering a response. A well-thought-out and agreeable conversation makes the homeowner feel important and listened to when they raise an issue, and would most likely not give negative feedback but general comments going forward.
Homeowners will offer negative feedback when they are not aware of what is happening in their community. Therefore, offering information as needed can help HOA board members avoid dealing with negative comments. If a homeowner is aware of why some decisions have been made and has information on a plan set out for the community, they will start appreciating how things are being done other than complaining.
