Strong International Demand for British Business Schools Despite Brexit (Podcast)

In this read out loud you will hear about latest trends in Demand for UK based universities. Despite the uncertainties around Great Britain’s position regarding its relationship with the European Union, the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) reports an increase in the number of people opting for UK-based schools as their first choice of application.

The GMAT exam administrator made a survey among candidates and has been closely following the behavior of test takers ever since the Brexit vote in 2016. Some key findings from the survey are:

  • The falling pound and decreased interest in other study destinations around the globe contribute significantly to increased applications to UK-based schools.
  • One of the key enticing factors is the reputation of the UK educational system and aspirants’ desire to develop an international network.
  • GMAC’s annual Application Trends Survey also shows continued strong international demand for UK programs.

GMAC’s CEO Sangeet Chowfla summarizes:

The level of interest we are seeing from international candidates in UK b-schools is a major factor in the overall global stability we are observing in graduate management education. It is also a success story in mobility that I hope will continue in the UK as Brexit continues to unfold. If we are to maintain a healthy climate for aspiring candidates, we need to make it possible for people from different regions and backgrounds to study and work in the location they desire.
